Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?
“Did you think you could stop me? I’ll burn the world down to save her.”
Daemon and Katy are in a thick of trouble as Origin takes off right where Opal left us. Katy has been captured and Daemon is desperate to get to wherever she is to save her. With tension rising and not knowing who to trust–Daemon and Katy are forced to set their moral compass aside in order to survive.
This book is absolutely chef kisses for me. I ADORE Origin simply because I love a good rescue/escape moment in my romances. I love when a hero does everything and anything to protect and rescue the person they love and that is exactly what Daemon does in this one, time and time again. We are in a completely new setting and with a whole different and vibrant (can I use that word to describe the enemy?) cast of side characters Origin leaves no stone unturned as JLA gives us some different perspectives of the Luxian and Human relationship.
I’m a big fan of just how much Katy and Daemon’s relationship blossomed in this book. Their communication got so much stronger compared to the other books, and I loved watching Daemon come to the realization that life is too short to not say what you want to say to the people you care about. With twists and turns and plot points that definitely had me gripping my kindle a little too tightly and boosting my audiobook to the highest volume–Origin is a must read for anyone who loves a solid alien romance. I honestly cannot wait until we dive into Opposition next!

JLA might write kidnappings way too often but this might be my favorite JLA book ever with Every Last Breath. I’m so thankful we read this series together (:
