I honestly don’t know what happened…
One minute I was planning accordingly what I was going to get this month and the next thing I know, I am staring at a trove of books and a sobbing bank account in the corner rocking itself back and forth.
I went overboard in March on books. I knew I was going to be spending more on books than usual as TeenBookCon was happening and I waddle out of there with a new stash of greatness, but wow March was also painted with B&N sales and awesome finds at my local Half Price that I literally could not pass up.
As always, before I get into the bounty of which my kindle and shelves cry out to in joy, let me preface this with I am a super frugal and hella cheap person. Most–if not all– of my purchases were deals from bookbub.com, amazon, audible, etc. which amounted to many of them being free, as well as through my carefully thought out monthly book budget as I have placed reading and supporting authors and the arts a priority when planning my personal finances. With that being said, take a look at my walk of shamelessness.

I honestly can’t believe this has happened.
If you don’t follow me on Twitter (which you totally should because I’m hilarious, @sammers65), last weekend I was shocked to find out that Fictionally Sam made the great leap into having 500 followers! Never in my wildest dreams did I think that my little neck of the woods would encompass other people, let alone five hundred of you!
It has been a little over a week since this, and I honestly still can’t put into words how shocked, happy, and grateful I am for the amount of love and support this blog and myself have gotten over this whirlwind of a year! I have made some great friends within this community and have gotten to interact with you gems in a way that you all feel like family to me. So to everyone who has waddled over to this blog–to this post! Thank you! Continue reading “RESOURCE: Bookish Puzzles + 500 Followers Giveaway!”
Reading Slumps are real.
This month I have been marked by the black spot…AKA a really big reading slump–which was super inconvenient because March was a month where I was inundated with ARCs to read/review. A time truly these passed 31 days have been.
Apart from the great reading slump of 2019, March was a great bookish month, simply because I got to go to my cities annual Teen Book Convention (Teenbookcon)! I got to meet so many different authors–new-to-me and beloved ones–as well learning more from those I aspire to be like. From Angie Thomas to debut author Mimi Yu, I got to meet a plethora of amazing and talented people that took time to give us nuggets of wisdom and advice from their writing journeys.
Color me super inspired.
I may write a separate post about my time at TeenBookCon, but if you are super impatient and love instant gratification (like me), you can check out my bookstagram account (@fictionallysam) to see my highlight reel of my time there as well as some photos that I will be posting throughout the remainder of the week! So be sure to follow me on the Gram to not miss my “funny and hot take” on books in the picture format!
On that super high note, here is my wrap-up of the drought called March!
