Why hello…its me…again. Honestly these breaks are getting wildly long, but I’m so happy to have hit the blogging bug again. I’ve missed these neck of the woods! We are finally into August (!!) and just that much closer to cooler climates and leaves changing! I live in Texas, so its more so the cooler climates I’m excited about as we barely get to see the changing of colors down here (I shall live vicariously through y’all that do!). These past few months I’ve been hitting it hard with readalongs and buddy reads; that I fear a burn out is imminent if I don’t slow down–so that is what August is for me, a nice slow down. A few books on the TBR, not a lot of goals, just a nice big reset.

August Goals
📖Read three mood reads
👯The book club books/buddy reads I do have–finish them on time!
📚Two books off the physical TBR/Shelves

The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout
➡Buddy read with Jamsu, Haley, and Ruby! We are making our way through the series in prep for its finale; and this will be where I finally stop rereading and get to the books I haven’t read yet! I previously got to 20% in this, but stopped for some reason and never went back (even though I wanted to! I remember wanting to!) so I’m excited to read the rest and find out what is going on with my favorites.
The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson
➡This one is a kill two birds with one stone type of deal! I’m going to see Lana at the Villains and Vixens book event in September and this book remains unread on my shelf since its publication. I figured now is the time to actually read it, so I don’t make a total buffoon of myself when I ask her to sign my paperback. Will let you know if the buffoonery still happens–probably will.
The Horde King of Shadow by Zoey Draven
➡I am this close to completing her backlist! So far I have not found a book from her that I didn’t like and I’ve been missing my love bugs from Planet Dakkar. I hear this book takes place decades after the Horde Kings of Dakkar series concluded, so I’m excited to see what fresh faces and stories will be told with the Drakkari.
The Games Gods Play by Abigail Owen
➡This is the Romance Revelry Society’s BOTM for August! This has been sat on my shelves for a hot minute (I think since Christmas) so I’m excited to check this off my Physical TBR and also dive back into Abigail Owen’s writing! If I read the back correctly, this is a romantasy that is giving hunger games but make it with Greek Mythology? I could be wrong on the Hunger Games aspect, but they had me at Greek Mythology, so who can blame me?

What are you most excited to read this month?

Hope you get to accomplish your goals and read them, enjoy! Xx
Thank you sunshine! I hope the same for you as well! <3
I’m excited for the chonker that is The Games Gods Play haha
I totally get what you mean about breaks getting too big! I haven’t really posted on my blog in almost a year now, but I am feeling the itch to start again. Sounds like you have a lovely month ahead of you Sam! I am also keeping my reading goals is and simple this month (just two books for now) since I am moving to a new place as well.
Feel the itch and give in to it Tanaz! Haha 😀 Also simple reading months are becoming my favorite because now I get to mood read with zero guilt lol! Good luck moving!!!!
