That awkward moment when an ER doctor has to inform you that you’re pregnant…with his baby.
Three things Lynsey Jones knows about the hot doctor: he’s grouchy, an arrogant jerk, and strangely obsessed with pie.
Three things Dr. Dick knows: he doesn’t talk about his past, he doesn’t do relationships, and the crazy girl in the hospital cafeteria who ate a fistful of French silk pie…is annoyingly irresistible.
After a chance meetup at a bar and a heated cab ride together, things come to a head and now instead of hating each other, they’re horizontal in a bed.
Three months later, the weird cafeteria stalker who crept out of Dr. Dick’s house like a thief in the night, winds up as his patient in the ER after her Tinder date from hell.
Dr. Dick is prepared to keep it cool and professional. That is until her bloodwork reveals that she’s pregnant.
What really throws him for a loop…is that the surprise baby…is his.

This is exactly what the doctor Prescribed.
One Moment Please, by Amy Daws is exactly what the world needed during these weird and exceedingly awkward times of isolation. Lynsey is a grad student who just finished her master thesis finds herself pregnant by Josh, an emotionally closed off doctor who just gave her the news.
From the moment I crawled into my bed and opened this gem, I was laughing hysterically at the antics of our dynamic duo Lynsey and Josh. I honestly loved watching their banter and how they grew closer and closer together. Lynsey is probably my favorite out of our main characters solely because she had this presence to her that drew me in instantly. Fiercely independent, stubborn, hilarious, and super relatable I wanted desperately to become this woman’s best friend.
The story does harp a lot on Josh’s past and how much that has affected him presently, which for me personally it was great to know but I wish we could move on and push past it as it tended to take me out of the story at times. But even with this, Daw’s signature humor was on full display throughout the entirety of this and I was HERE for it as it drew me right back into the storyline.
All in all, One Moment Please is a story that I think I will read again and again, as it’s just one of those feel good romcoms that just keep on giving. If you are itching for something funny and romantic with a splash of baby vibes, I highly recommend giving this one a go. Daw’s unique writing style and charm are on full display with this one and I am obsessed.
Huge thank you to Amy Daws for sending me an ARC for my honest review!
