Everyone says Rex Gunderson isn’t boyfriend material. Everyone says he isn’t serious enough. Everyone says he’s a joke. Rumor has it, the disgraced ex-manager of the wrestling team left campus with his tail between his legs.

But now Rex is back—nowhere near the douchebag he used to be—and ready to prove everyone wrong.

The leopard has changed his spots, and he’s about to become my dating coach.

My thoughts

This is was a fun little novella! I have missed this series so much, so this novella was a nice little welcome back present from the gang. The Teaching Hours is Rex Gunderson’s story and it follows his time teaching Hannah–an awkward and blunt student University student who scares off more guys than she cares to admit–a thing or two about dating a guy.

I honestly felt a close kinship to our leading girl Hannah, because wow did her struggles with talking to the opposite sex resonate with me. Absolutely no filter, she says exactly what she is thinking and it usually goes south quickly with all her dating prospects…except with Rex. Gunderson for me was always the douchebag you just gotta love to hate within the series and this novella is no different. Watching him and his interactions with Hannah and Lilly (his niece) had me smiling wide and doing a happy dance.

The chemistry between these two wasn’t sizzling but somehow they clicked in a way that had me rooting for them all the same. Overall, I really did enjoy my time reading this novella and it was such a feel good story that took me away from the crazy around us that I highly recommend giving this novella (and the series!) a go if you are looking for a fun time!

Huge thank you to Sara Ney for sending me an ARC for my honest review! Quotations taken from an uncorrected proof and may change upon final publication. Graphics used with permission.
