Now since I suck at keeping a TBR, I thought it would be more helpful to give myself options within the TBR for each of the challenges–just so I don’t hit a slump from being so confined. So with each challenge, I will be giving myself up to three different options of books to read!
With that said, grab some popcorn, your fuzziest blanket, and your TBR pile, and let’s get to planning!
Challenge #1: Light the Fire
This one is stoking the fire of your arch nemesis and watching them burn in flames as you sprinkle cinnamon on your freshly made hot cocoa. To complete this challenge, read an Enemies-to-Lovers romance set during the winter and/or Christmas time! The steamier the better!
Competing in South Korea on the world stage is hard enough.
Having to spend the entire press tour beforehand with a woman who hates me?
Karma really is a bitch.
While she’s spent the last four years loathing me, I’ve spent them ignoring the guilt that gnaws at my stomach.
All Mia Salter cares about is that I’m her brother’s ex-best friend and it’s her duty to hate me. The funny thing is, I barely noticed her back when she was trying to keep up with us on the slopes. Now, as both of us prepare to go for gold, I’m seeing her in a whole different light—and it involves a whole lotta different positions.
No one said the path to the Olympics would be easy.
When a late season hurricane hits Merry, Connecticut, city manager and single dad Noah Yates has to inform the already devastated residents that there won’t be a Christmas Festival this year. No festival means no tourism dollars. A disaster of epic proportions for his hometown.
But when home renovation expert slash smoking hot reality TV star Catalina King shows up with a camera crew and a budget big enough to put the town back together again, Noah balks. Hard. The last time Cat was in town she stirred up trouble everywhere she went. (Residents are still talking about the town’s first and only bar fight.) Noah doesn’t need a TV diva capitalizing on his town’s tragedy or filling his daughter’s head with glitz and glam.
Cat is ready and willing to put Merry back in Christmas mode with a holiday special that will leave everyone believing in miracles and get her friends back in the home they love. But there’s one big problem standing in her way. And his name is Noah Yates. He’s wrong about her and she can’t wait to prove it. Ring those jingle bells because it’s on.
Please bring me a new boss for Christmas. Mine is the worst. The worst, hidden in a six foot tall package of male perfection. It’d be easier if he looked like an old Scrooge, wouldn’t it?
Nick Saint-Croix doesn’t look like an old scrooge. He’s hot as-
Um, never mind. Just bring me a new boss. Please.
Challenge #2: Faking the Mistletoe
Catching feelings to your not so real significant other this holiday season? Don’t worry! We’ve got a mistletoe for that! To complete this challenge–you guessed it! Read a fake relationship/dating romance! Super bonus if it’s set during Winter and/or Christmas!
Jackson “The Beast” Boudreaux is rich, gorgeous, and unbelievably rude to the staff at Chef Bianca Hardwick’s New Orleans restaurant. Bianca would sooner douse herself in hot sauce than cook for Jackson again, but when he asks her to cater his fund-raiser, Bianca can’t refuse, knowing the cash will help pay her mother’s medical bills. Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum—money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract—and a stunning ring.
The heir to a family bourbon dynasty, Jackson knows the rumors swirling around him. The truth is even darker. Still, he needs a wife to secure his inheritance, and free-spirited, sassy Bianca would play the part beautifully. Soon, though, their simple business deal evolves into an emotional intimacy he’s built walls to avoid.
As the passion heats up between them, Bianca and Jackson struggle to define which feelings are real and which are for show. Is falling for your fake fiancé the best happy ending…or a recipe for disaster?
But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she’s beyond shocked.
For two years, the man known as The Wall of Winnipeg couldn’t find it in him to tell her good morning or congratulate her on her birthday. Now? He’s asking for the unthinkable.
What do you say to the man who is used to getting everything he wants?
Challenge #3: Stranded Together
Car broke down? Snow Storm? Cancelled flight?Amnesia?! Whatever the case may be, to complete this challenge read a romance where the main character are…well stranded.
In my defense, I didn’t know he was Jax Blackwood—who expects a legendary rock star to be shopping for groceries? More importantly, a blizzard was coming and he was about to grab the last carton of mint-chocolate chip.
Still, I might have walked away, but then he smugly dared me to try and take the coveted ice cream. So I kissed him. And distracted that mint-chip right out of his hands.
Okay, it was a dirty move, but desperate times and all that. Besides, I never expected he’d be my new neighbor.
An annoying neighbor who takes great pleasure in reminding me that I owe him ice cream but would happily accept more kisses as payment. An irresistible neighbor who keeps me up while playing guitar naked–spectacularly naked–in his living room.
Clearly, avoidance is key. Except nothing about Jax is easy to ignore—not the way he makes me laugh, or that his particular brand of darkness matches mine, or how one look from him melts me faster than butter under a hot sun.
Neither of us believes in love or forever. Yet we’re quickly becoming each other’s addiction. But we could be more. We could be everything.
All we have to do is trust enough to fall.
As an Air Marshal, I have two rules: keep everyone safe and always remain professional. But when I take a seat next to the hot blonde in 7B, I can only promise one of those things.
Abby Winters and her uptight librarian attire are more than a little distracting. And when she grabs onto me during turbulence–all bets are off.
A mile-high hookup is great, but what happens when we land and neither one of us wants to walk away…
Challenge #4: Hot Cocoa Romance
There is nothing better than a good build up of anticipation over the holiday season, new year, new gifts, new…love? To complete this challenge, read a slow burn romance! Mega bonus points if it’s set during the Christmas season.
Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday—with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.
Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type—at all—but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.
Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man—and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.
After seventeen years—and countless broken bones and broken promises—she knows her window to compete in figure skating is coming to a close.
But when the offer of a lifetime comes in from an arrogant idiot she’s spent the last decade dreaming about pushing in the way of a moving bus, Jasmine might have to reconsider everything.
Including Ivan Lukov.
Challenge #5: Coming Home
Who said only the good can get gifts this Christmas? We here at the readathon are firm believers in those second chances, so to complete this challenge read a second chance romance. BONUS: if set during the winter!
I knew better than to fall for my best friend’s little sister, but she’s worth everything to me—even breaking an oath to the man who was the closest thing I had to a brother.
Every day is a struggle to remember she’s one hundred percent off-limits and way too young and innocent for a war-hardened Marine Captain like myself. But when I’m around her, I lose all my hard-earned self-control. And when we’re apart, I realize she’s my sole reason for breathing.
But she’s done waiting for me. She’s ready to walk away. I won’t let that happen. Not now. Not ever. I’ll burn in hell for breaking that damn promise, but she’s worth it. It’s Christmas Eve and tonight I’m ready to claim the best Christmas present of all.
Author’s naughty note: Looking for wildly hot, over-the-top sweetness and a possessive alpha hero, and a feisty, untouched heroine? Then this one is for you! Sweet, filthy in an oh-so-good way, and so ridiculously hot you’ll be begging for more! Like you’ll find in all my books, this is a safe romance with a HEA & NO CHEATING!
My parents need my help over Christmas break, so I’ve agreed to return during the semester break against my better judgment.
Kisses under the mistletoe. Family pictures in front of the numerous decorations. Christmas in Cringle Cove is a magical time for everyone else who visits—just not for me.
Four long years away without a single glance backward. I’m THISCLOSE to college graduation. One week around the chocolate-with-flecks-of-gold-eyed devil and I’m THISCLOSE to giving in to him all over again.
Hunter should come with a warning label: MISTLETOE NOT REQUIRED.
The Cringle Cove Christmas Chronicles is a collection of six stand-alone romance books. Don’t miss the full series!
I thought so too.
Until I lost the best damn prize I’d ever won in my life.
She thinks she can escape me.
Told me it’s over.
But I’m not a man who relishes defeat.
I always get what I want.
This time when I claim her,
Its’ till death do us part!
Abigail: Chase was everything any woman would want in a husband.
He was rich,
Handsome, and kind,
A fantastic lover.
Just one problem.
He was in love with his Ex-wife!
Challenge #6: Extreme Gifting
Summer games are coming up, but let’s not forget the great winter sports! To Complete this challenge, read a sports romance that involves a winter sport (figure skating, ice hockey, skiing, sledding, snowboarding, etc.)!
“The Cutting Edge” with a Russian twist.
American pairs figure skater Carrie Parker’s Winter Games dreams were dashed when her philandering partner caused one of the greatest scandals in skating history. Blacklisted from competing in America, her career is over…until she receives a mysterious invitation and is reunited with the most infuriating, talented—and handsome—skater she’s ever met.
Russian champion Anton Belikov knows sacrifice. He gave up a normal life and any hope of a meaningful relationship to pursue his dream. And he’s come close—with a silver medal already under his belt, the next stop is the gold. All he needs is a partner. While he’s never forgotten the young American skater he seduced one long-ago night in Amsterdam, he never expected to see her again…never mind skate with her.
When what starts as a publicity stunt grows into something real between them, Carrie and Anton’s partnership will test their loyalties to family, country, and each other. With only a few months to train for the competition of a lifetime, can they master technique and their emotions, or will they lose their footing and fall victim to the heartaches of their pasts?
Red Hot Russians, Book #1
Unless your name is Demi Harrison.
If that’s the case, you’d act like I’m the devil incarnate and go out of your way to avoid me. Which makes zero sense because at the last Olympic Games I rocked her world.
Whatever though. I need to concentrate on winning gold anyway. I was at the top of the standings coming into the games, but since arriving in Korea I’ve lost my edge.
I was never one for superstitions, but I can’t deny that there’s only one difference between my previous medal winning games, and these ones—her.
I’ve pulled off amazing feats in the past, but getting Demi to agree to sleep with me throughout the games might require divine intervention
Challenge #7: Santa’s Gift
FREEBIE ALERT!!! This challenge is a gift from Mrs. Claus’ beau himself! Choose whichever book you would like to binge read this holiday season to complete this challenge!
It’s been kind of a weird day.
I wholeheartedly recommend adding an alien to your household though. He cooks, he cleans—and the kids love him. But three things you should know if you’re going to keep a seven-foot-tall alien in your basement?
You might want to invest in flameproof cookware.
He will think of you as his planet’s equivalent of a princess.
And my alien is totally stealing my underwear.
