It appears I did a thing…
I think it goes without saying that I have a passion for the romance genre and I think it also goes without saying that I also have a very awkward whale call when it comes to shouting to the rooftops about said romance books to random people. But the only people that seem to understand my totally awkward whale call are other fellow romance readers who just so happen to be totally flailing about the same things I am. This my friends, is where my love of buddy reading was formed; it is where I found my tribe and groups of friends that have become my ride or dies in life.
But somehow, in all the book clubs I’ve joined and all of the readalongs I’ve entered…I’ve felt like there wasn’t something romance focused in the way I needed it to be. I wanted to chat more about romances that weren’t only historical romances or young adult novels that may or may not have romantic elements sprinkled in. I craved to really talk and swoon with others about all kinds of romances and from that stemmed the birth of The Romance Revelry Society.
The Romance Revelry Society is a discord server that serves as a monthly romance book club/readalong where our main focus is reading and loving romance in a low key and chill environment. Each month we will read a voted on romance novel and chat about it within the discord server at the end of the month.
I want this server to be a space for romance readers to be able to connect and discover new books in one of our favorite genres. With spaces to host buddy reads, give recommendations, share books news and bookish deals, as well as host in-depth conversations on the books we love. The Romance Revelry Society is a place I hope romance lovers will be able to revel in their love of the genre whole heartedly.
