I’m jumping on the trend! If you don’t know (which is totally fair if you aren’t on TikTok), there is a trend going around where people ask their male partners how often they think about the Roman Empire, which surprisingly a lot of them do?? So a person asked what is the female equivalent to the Roman Empire? Obviously us bookish fiends chose to take this and run with it in a bookish way–and alas here we are!
These are all the books that I consistently think about night and day (and probably reread scenes/the whole book more often than anything else).

A Court of Mist And Fury by Sarah J. Maas
➡Second book in the ACOTAR series.
➡Everyone knows it so I don’t think I have to explain the premise of this one; but man oh man do I think about Rhysand and Feyre often. Good Soup.
Gifting Me To His Best Friend by Katee Robert
➡MMF Christmas novella of hotness.
➡I think this is the most reread book of Katee Robert’s that I have ever read. Honestly its just so good! A perfect blend of pure smut and plot. Listen to Sam and pick up this one hand read, you will thank me later.
From Lukov With Love by Mariana Zapata
➡Enemies to Lovers figure skating romance.
➡Easily one of my top five favorite books of all time. MZ can do no wrong in my eyes and I will fight (lovingly) with those who disagree! But seriously, Ivan and Jasmine’s dynamics are what I refer to when I explain what enemies to lovers should look like.
Forbidden Fling by Kat Taylor
➡Non-HEA erotica. Boyfriend’s Dad–TW: Cheating.
➡This is just absolute filth in 42 pages. Pure and simple. It does what it needs to do and I have yet to find a erotic book that comes close to this. If you have any recommendations–I’m all ears!
Love, Laugh, Lich by Kate Prior
➡Monster Office Romance. Many HR Violations.
➡I read this last October and I quote this book frequently around my office (absolutely no one understands me, but I feel cool so it’s fine). Lich’s philosophy of corporate downsizing is one I wish was a thing in my office.
Hands Down by Mariana Zapata
➡Football Second Chance Friends to lovers romance.
➡You cannot find a book with bigger golden retriever energy than Zachary James Travis. This book was what I was absolutely DYING to have after reading The Wall of Winnipeg And Me wayyy back when; and once MZ blessed us with this, I aspire to have Bianca and Zach’s relationship. This is pure slow burn gold, and probably the only second chance romance I recommend.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells
➡Science Fiction w/ the sassiest bot around.
➡Martha Wells has yet to steer me wrong, and Murderbot is my go to rec for people who want to step into the science fiction genre. Sanctuary Moon is my favorite.
Slave To Sensation by Nalini Singh
➡PNR/Sci-Fi romance. Werewolves meet android-esque species romance.
➡IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE PSY-CHANGELING SERIES YET, PLEASE STOP READING THIS AND GO RECTIFY IT IMMEDIATELY. I cannot justify why this book (hell this series) is a part of my roman empire without spoiling it for you, but ugh its so good.
