I love when someone recommends a book to you on vibes alone and it just works. The Takeover Effect is a contemporary billionaire romance that hits all the right spots in all the right places for me! I honestly don’t know how people are not talking more about this book and this series, because these stories are absolute game changers in my humblest of opinions!

Hemdeep Singh knows exactly what he wants. With his intelligence and determination, he has what it takes to build his own legacy away from Bharat, Inc. and the empire his father created. But when his brother calls him home, Hem puts his dreams on hold once again to help save the company he walked away from. That’s when he encounters the devastating Mina Kohli in the Bharat boardroom, and he realizes he’s in for more than he had bargained.
Mina will do whatever it takes to recover control of her mother’s law firm, even if it means agreeing to an arranged marriage. Her newest case assignment is to assist Bharat in the midst of a potential takeover. It could be the key to finally achieving her goal while preventing her marriage to a man she doesn’t love—as long as her explosive attraction to Hem doesn’t get in the way.
As Mina and Hem work to save Bharat, they not only uncover secrets that could threaten the existence of the company, but they also learn that in a winner-takes-all game, love always comes out on top.
“”Hiriye, I’m a sardar. A Punjabi Sikh man. Do you really think I can resist a challenge?” “And I’m a sardarni,” she snapped. “Do you really think I’ll put up with your bullshit?” He leaned forward and stole a quick kiss. “Challenge accepted.””
I’m a sucker for a good law romance, and Nisha Sharma really said hold me beer with this one. When Laura (Bluestockinglaura) told the #Kissandletmetelechat girls about her plane read after Apollycon, I couldn’t not pick this one up, and I’m so glad I did, because this was just absolutely divine.
Things are going down at Bharat, Inc., and not in a fun way. Hem Singh has branched out and left the family business behind to start his own law firm; but when a family crisis arises and everything his family has built is at risk. Hem finds himself back in the boardroom and at the hands of Mina Kohli. Mina will do anything to take back the law firm her late mother worked tirelessly to build, even if that means putting up with her asshole of an uncle for one more project. Forced to work on the due diligence report for Bharat, Inc. Mina catches the eye of Hem and somehow she can’t seem to turn away.
THIS STORY YOU GUYS! These characters! I honestly could not get enough of them. From the moment Mina and Hem met on page, I was instantly captivated by their chemistry and their love for family. Sharma does a wonderful job of brilliantly weaving Indian culture and business into this story–I was instantly enraptured by the characters and the authenticity they brought to the story. I desperately wanted more from each of the brothers, and I cannot wait to see what happens in the second book!
This was an epic romance debut from Nisha Sharma and I’m so glad this was my first read of her books. I need more from her!
