Happy Monday Storytellers and welcome to the last week of Bookending Autumn! This month has been a complete blast and I have been loving reading everyone’s posts, prompts, and chats! Much like last week, I’m still waddling through everyone’s posts (make sure to add it to the blog hopping masterlist!) because as usual, I am trying to play catch up–but the end is near!
If you don’t know what Bookending Autumn is, its a month long event in October that was created by myself and Clo @ Cuppa Clo where we aspire to bring the bookish community closer together through the platform we love the most–blogging! Each day we have different prompts from different hosts that participants can replicate! I am wickedly excited to check out everyone’s posts and prompts as we get more into the month as our hosts this year are dishing out quality content! You can catch me smiling from ear to ear as I get to meet all of you on your blogs and on our Twitter (@bookend_events if you haven’t followed, you totally should!) page!
Today I am taking over reign of this spooky kingdom and I cannot even describe to you how beyond excited I am to be hosting! So grab your popcorn (and knives) and prepare to be bewitched! (hehe, get it? Cause the lead on bewitched was named Samantha (Sam) and my name is Samantha (Sam)…I know, I’m hilarious)
Also don’t forget that we have a blog hopping masterlist! The list features all of our participants and those who are participating in Bookending Autumn can put their post links next to their name for easy blog hopping! Can’t wait to see all your amazing posts! And with that, let’s get into today’s prompt!
Pumpkin Carver Challenge
CHALLENGE PROMPT! Spell out JACK O’ LANTERN with Book Titles! You must omit determiners, such as, “The” and “a” etc. If you want to go hardcore– try using only horror/thriller books, or stories set in the month of October!
J – The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
A – All That Compels the Heart by Erin Bowlen
C – Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
K – Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen
O’ – OCD, the Dude, and Me by Lauren Roedy Vaughn
L – The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
A – The Authentics by Abdi Nazemian
N – None of The Above by I.W. Gregorio
T – This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada
E – Eliza and Her Monsters byFrancesca Zappia
R – Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
N – Now I Rise by Kiersten White
Wow was this harder than I thought it was going to be! The entire time I was waddling through my shelves, I kept mumbling “why are there so many quacking letters in the name Jack O’ Lantern?!”
I think the hardest letter for me would definitely be ‘k’, as I think that one is the only book that I own that starts with that letter, High key was going to sneak into my mom’s romance stash if my own library failed me! LOL.
Good luck everyone and may the book gods be ever in your favor if you accept this challenge! Can’t wait to see your finished product!
Are you up for the challenge?
