Most Anticipated October Movie Releases

Happy Sunday Storytellers! Tomorrow marks the first day of fall, and I don’t know about you but I am pretty excited to waddle to cooler temperatures (I live in Texas, so this is a fantasy, but a girl can dream!). October is marked with fun spooks and explosive times here on Fictionally Sam and in the blogging community as our second annual Bookending Autumn (formerly Blogoween) will be taking place! If you haven’t already signed up, there is still time! You can click here– Announcement Post –for all the information about the event and what the prompts are going to be for the next 31 spooky days!

With that said, October isn’t only for Bookending Autumn–It’s also movie month! Last month our cinemas were graced with mysteries, heists, and adorable cartoons for the family. October seems to be carrying on this trend, except in exchange for heists and mystery, we are getting a TON of military dramas, sequels, and historical fantasies that I am positive will be captivating us from the beginning credits to lights up! So grab your calendars and some popcorn folks; and lets look at all the exciting films that will be gracing our cinema’s come this October!

The Addams Family (October 11th)

An animated version of Charles Addams’ series of cartoons about a peculiar, ghoulish family.

Am I literal trash for the Addams Family? Why yes, yes I am. All my life I have stood on the firm belief that I am a product of a nice blend between Wednesday and her Mother Morticia. Therefore, ya girl will be waddling to see this one!

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (October 18th)

Maleficent and her goddaughter Aurora begin to question the complex family ties that bind them as they are pulled in different directions by impending nuptials, unexpected allies, and dark new forces at play.

I’m ashamed to say that I haven’t even watched the first movie and I ADORE the character of Maleficent. With that said, this trailer gave me the chills, so I guess I’m doing a binge?

The Aeronauts (October 25th)

The Aeronauts (2019) PosterGenre:  Action, Adventure, Biography, Drama, Thriller

Pilot Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones) and scientist James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) find themselves in an epic fight for survival while attempting to make discoveries in a hot air balloon.

Two actors that I adore and admire in one movie? I don’t even care that the plot is whimsical as it is enthralling or that I may or may not get my heart ripped from my chest–TAKE MY MONEY.

I am so so so here for The Addams Family!! (Also, I definitely should NOT have watched the trailer for the Aeronauts, because I’m getting on a plane in 10 hours and I am in anxiety overload at the moment. 😂😭 It’s fine, I’m fine, everything will be fine and I will not fall out the bottom of the plane for no reason whatsoever.)

I am anxious to see Malificent. I didn’t know about the Addams Family one – I will have to check that out. Downton Abbey is at the top of my list – it is being released around here soon.

I feel that way a lot when sequels are done when the first didn’t need one. Fingers crossed that this one is epic though!
