This was my first hiatus ever in the history/life of Fictionally Sam and…well I think it is sufficient to say that I suck at not doing blog related things on a daily basis. I missed you guys so much and missed this outlet way more than I realized I did.
With that said, I’ve been keeping a secret from y’all.
For the past month and a half now, I have been slowly (emphasis on the slowly) creating, shaping and prepping for a move towards going self-hosted. Originally this hiatus was solely going to be me stopping everything and breathing because as I mentioned before everything got overwhelming. However, I suck at not doing anything. So 48 hours into my hiatus, I decided to speed up my timeline for moving to self-hosted and to use these past two weeks to make everything spiffy and to schedule a bunch!
Queer Eye: The Blog Edition
From the very beginning, I decided that I when I moved to self hosted I wanted my neck of the woods to reflect more of me and my vibe. I wanted the look to be playful, fun, and also showcase how passionate I am about the different mediums of storytelling. Everyday and every time I look at the page I get all giddy inside, because it just feels right and I really hope you guys are vibing it!
Not only did Fictionally Sam got in touch with her inner Bobby, Jonathan, and Tan to get an external face lift but she also had herself a sit down with her inner Karamo and did some work on herself internally. So the question you probably are asking is…
What’s different and whats new?
Well firstly, this site is still going to be delivering the same bookish content that we have always delivered here; as books will always be the core and majority content here at Fictionally Sam.
With that said, there are going to be somethings that I waddle to work on and add on!
- More TV/Film Content – I feel like I’ve been slacking on this a lot lately and I really would like to dedicate a specific day in my weekly schedule that is solely cinematography related!
- Genre In Depth Comeback – I miss this and want it back. However, instead of twice a month, I’m reverting it to once monthly.
- More Chit Chat – I miss rambling to you all. Going back through posts I realized I began to shy away from the sole reason I began this blog–to rant and rave about storytelling. So we are waddling back to this.
I’m learning balance–both in my personal and professional life–with that said, I got in touch with my last Inner Queer Eye guru, Antoni, and began to take the steps to learn how to lead a balanced blog. My schedule is becoming crisper and more uniformed (hallelujah) and I am also going to be more picky about the ARCs I request as well as the reviews I accept.
I’m so happy and excited to be back with you guys and I hope that this is just the beginning of greatness here in my neck of the interwebs. I’ve missed you lot so much and I’ve realized just how much you all have become to be like family to me! So cheers, to new beginnings, new magic, and more love ❤.
