Mini-Reviews Monday #13 || Read Me Romance Edition

Mini-Reviews Monday is a monthly series in which I attempt to get caught up on reviews in bulk. These reviews are a highlight reel instead of an in-depth look into my time reading these novels. If you would like an in-depth version of my review, let me know in the comments!

Tempt The Ex by Natasha Madison

I dumped the man I thought I would marry because my roommate told me these are the years to be wild and free.
College isn’t for getting serious it’s for letting loose.
Except it’s not all it’s cracked up to be and I’m miserable.
I was on top of the world.
In college at the top of my game, living with my two best friends and I had the love of my life by my side.
It felt like I had it all.
Then she dumped me out of the blue.
With nothing else to lose I listened to my roommates and set out a plan to tempt the ex.

Super cute and quick read/listen through the Read Me Romance Podcast! Tempt The Ex is a perfect example of why listening to people instead of your heart is the worst thing you can do. I had a ton of fun listening to this one as there was a crap ton of laugh out loud moments that had me grinning during my commute to and from work. I do wish that there was more steam and chemistry in this one between our hero and heroine–like words are nice, but ya girl is craving actions behind it.

Smolder by Aly Martinez

Smolder (Guardian Protection, #2.5)Genres:Romantic Suspense
Publisher:  Independently Published
Publication Date: July 22nd 2019

Format: Audiobook

Mateo Rodriguez was something of an anomaly. The majority of the world viewed him as a ruthless criminal with no respect for life or law. However, the man I knew was gentle and caring, catering to my every desire.
He would have been the perfect man, if only he would have left his life of crime behind and
chosen me.
So there we were—for five years—in love and at a stalemate.
When three armed men dragged me out of my bed in the middle of the night, I realized just how right I’d been to fear his lifestyle.
Or, maybe I’d been wrong. Because Mateo was the only man powerful enough to save me.

Hot Damn!

Absolutely LOVED this novella! This was my first book/listen of Aly Martinez, but by golly it wont be my last. The chemistry between Mateo and Ivy was hotter than sin, and the drama that unfolds in this quick novella is one that enraptured me from start to finish. My mouth hung open the entire time listening to this, and I think I swooned a million times with every chapter. 10/10 would recommend this!

Rough Sketch by Kate Canterbary

Smart, successful, and sitting pretty at the top of her game, Neera Malik has it all figured out.
Save for the small issue of Gustavo Guillmand.
The artist with a cult—and Instagram—following has a problem and it’s not his preference for shirtless selfies.
No, he has an attitude problem, a minding his own business problem, an infuriatingly sexy problem.
They can’t stand each other and they can’t stay away from each other.

This one was a hot and super steamy listen!

I loved the contrast between our hero and heroine and the physical attraction and reaction that they have between each other. The constant push and pull from each of them and the banter was one that made my car rides to and from work that much more enjoyable. The steam in this one is off the charts, which made it 10 times hotter than what it could have been. More than likely will be listening to it again today. If you are looking to listen to a quick, hot, and sexy romance novella–this one is your man.

So the Read Me Romance Podcast…. does each episode end up reading the novel to you? or do they just tell you about it and then you find a copy of it? That sounds so interesting!

Yes! Each week is a different book, where it’s read to you by professional narrators (so essentially its a free audiobook)! They use to do daily episodes but for a couple months now its been new episodes on Monday and Fridays! Highly recommend!
