March Wrap Up

Reading Slumps are real.

This month I have been marked by the black spot…AKA a really big reading slump–which was super inconvenient because March was a month where I was inundated with ARCs to read/review. A time truly these passed 31 days have been.

Apart from the great reading slump of 2019, March was a great bookish month, simply because I got to go to my cities annual Teen Book Convention (Teenbookcon)! I got to meet so many different authors–new-to-me and beloved ones–as well learning more from those I aspire to be like. From Angie Thomas to debut author Mimi Yu, I got to meet a plethora of amazing and talented people that took time to give us nuggets of wisdom and advice from their writing journeys.

Color me super inspired.

I may write a separate post about my time at TeenBookCon, but if you are super impatient and love instant gratification (like me), you can check out my bookstagram account (@fictionallysam) to see my highlight reel of my time there as well as some photos that I will be posting throughout the remainder of the week! So be sure to follow me on the Gram to not miss my “funny and hot take” on books in the picture format!

On that super high note, here is my wrap-up of the drought called March!

  1. I’m sorry you had a slump-y month! 😦 I feel like I’ve been falling in and out of slumps all year and it’s such a pain in the ass. I hope April is better for you ❤ The convention sounds amazing!! Lowkey jealous that you got to meet Queen Thomas, she's amazing~!

LMAO, I’m jealous of myself haha, she was a saint and so sweet, I seriously wish I could be like ant-man and just jump into her pocket and listen to her everyday. 10/10

  2. ngl, my first reaction to your opening was “out, damned spot!” but anyway … *sprays your space with slump-begone* Teenbookcon sounds like a time indeed and I’m so glad you had that opportunity!! (and yes, you should definitely write the post.) also yay for getting through ARCs and for 3+ star reads, besides that DNF of course.

I think your April has to be better by default just because of BE Spring, but sending good bookish vibes your way just in case 💕

I hate when book slumps happen but I hope you’re soon able to get out of it.

  4. I think you did great this month! ❤ Also, I just saw Captain Marvel which means I get to read your review now! I loved it so even more excited. Also, I feel like the books you read sound like pretty good reads for you! I must now go slither on over to your genre in depth because it's thrillers lol
