  1. I use to be a figure skater. I started figure skating from when I was 4 years old all the way up until I was 14 when I hurt my knee and we could no longer afford my lessons. I absolutely love the sport and regret not being able to have continued competing professionally. I am, however, hoping to get back into shape and start back up again (though I’m probably to out of it to go back into it professionally).
  2. I am smitten with research. I absolutely love researching things and pulling sources together! I use to work in the reference section of my University’s library when I was in undergrad and It was there that I caught the research bug– I would help grad students and professors with their research projects and I found myself getting giddy and learning new things. I feel like research is like a huge mystery/puzzle that I get to explore and solve (hence why I love doing my Genre In Depth series!). You can basically call me Sherlock Holmes.
  3. I am a Bi-racial baby. This is something I am probably most proud of in my life, because I get to represent so many wonderful cultures with my blood. My mother is Jamaican (immigrated to the States in the 80s) and my dad is German, Native American (born and raised in California).
  4. I write Poetry. This is something very few know about me, and if you do know this then I consider you family. Poetry has always played an integral part of my life and was my first taste of storytelling. Poetry gave me my voice during most of the dark times in my life and kept me sane and alive. I don’t share my poetry, but I’m hoping to get to a point where I would be willing to share it with those who would like to see it.
  5. I was born twice. Yes, you read that right. My mom had a voluntary c-section after she had my brother and so when they got me out, I didn’t really like the world and wanted a refund, so I wiggled out of the doctor’s grasp and dove right back into my mom and some how wiggled myself up to her sternum. According to my mom a shit ton of doctors came to see because that has never happened before. It took another twenty or so minutes for them to get me out again and the doctor had to climb on top of the operating table to get a hold of me cause I refused to come out. So the time on my birth certificate is an estimation of when I really came out and the second time around. You could say I was dramatic and introverted from birth.
  6. INFJ, Ravenclaw, Enneagram Type 5, and a moon child. Stole this from Izzy because I’m running out of things about me that are interesting. According to the Meyers Briggs test I took in College I am on the INFJ spectrum, and according to every single harry potter sorting quiz I am a full-blooded Ravenclaw through and through. With the Enneagram I am a Type 5 (5w4/6 if you take into account the wings) which is the investigator. I was born on June 22, so I am moon child (cancer, aka the crab) and I am very proud of my sign, thank you very much.
  7. I really hate taking notes while reading. I feel like it sucks me out of the world when I have to stop and write down my thoughts on a certain quote or portion. Then, when I finish writing the note down, I have to make the effort of getting back into the world–sometimes this is easy, but more often than not, it’s a struggle bus.

  1. Those are some very interesting facts, especially the one about being born twice! I usually hate writing these posts since I hate talking about myself but I might still do it if I can get enough facts about myself.

  2. AH! We bond again! I played ice hockey as a youth! I would have loved to see you figure skate and I hope you get to get back into it soon. Also I am cracking up at how dramatically you entered the world or rather re-entered, man that must be a story to tell at parties for your mom! Thanks so much for tagging me and I loved learning more about you ❤

  3. I loved these seven facts about you! Especially the poetry and the being born twice thing. That is pretty cool and peculiar. You must have been a very determined baby haha 😉 Do you think of sharing/puplishing your poetry on Wattpad or something?

  4. yayyyyy you did the thing!! and you always do the best promos – I am flattered. and blushing 😊

figure skating is so much fun! I never really got past the “don’t fall over” lessons, but it’s something I’ve also been wanting to get back into … along with ballet, and rock climbing, and swimming, and color/winter guard, and piano 😅 (why aren’t there more hours in the day so we can do ALL the things???)

“when they got me out, I didn’t really like the world and wanted a refund, so I wiggled out of the doctor’s grasp and dove right back into my mom and some how wiggled myself up to her sternum” OMG Sam, trying to nope out of the outside world literally since you were born 😂 but also super relatable tbh.

also, Ravenclaws unite. CAW CAW. 🦅

    1. I DID THE THING! And you deserve all the promos because they are much true!

I ADORE figure skating! I really didn’t like the “learning to fall” lesson they gave me when I started so I mentally yelled at myself to never ever fall. 😂😂 AND I AGREE TO NEEDING MORE HOURS OF THE DAY TO DO ALL THE THINGS! FAM I AM A HOBBIEST AND A PERFECTIONIST! I NEED THE HOURS!

Lol my birth was the beginning of my brand. Hahaha.

      RAVENCLAWS FOREVER!

  5. I am legit so jealous that you did ice skating when you were younger!!! Figure skating and gymnastics are the two sports that I wished my parents had put me into… but I didn’t get anything until I joined club volleyball myself in the eighth grade.

First of all YOU HAVE A TWIN!?!?!? also lmfao at you diving back into your mom, that is the biggest introvert mood I have ever seen.

    1. LMAO no to the twin, I have an older brother by 1 year and a younger sister by 3.5 years. My brother had complications with his birth so all of us after him were voluntary c-sections as my mom didn’t want to run the risk of complications with us like with my brother, John. But yeah, I did not want to join the world. I was comfy and didn’t see why I had to come out lololol.

Figure Skating is my love and I miss it dearly! I never really got into Gymnastics until recently while watching the olympic a few years back, now I stan them like I stan pizza. A time. Volleyball is fun though! I wasn’t able to play volleyball in school growing up because my mom thought it was dumb cause she didn’t understand the rules (that and tennis). A time honestly. lololol.

      1. OH OKAY that makes way more sense! And it is warm and comfy, and it is cold and sad here so I can relate to not wanting to be here.

I grew up watching the figure skating and gymnastics Olympics, but by the time I was like “I WANNA DO THIS” i was kind of too old to get into it. womp womp
