Hello and Happy Thursday Story Tellers. I’ve been travelling lately, so my writing posts have been all kinds of topsy-turvy–plus it does not help that I am a super mood blogger, and this week just wasn’t a mood. So, with that I thought I’d dig out the ol’ tags book and do some that have since been long overdue.
I know, look at me staying on brand.
Today I’m gonna take a stab at the Entertaining Blogger Award, which I was nominated for by both Julia @ Fable Hunter and Kaleena @ Reader Voracious. But since this is an award, I need to finally live out my dreams and do my Oscar speech….ahem.
Wow. I honestly can’t believe this is happening to me. For years people have been telling me I’m entertaining and in the non-sexual way that I’m a good time; but I never really believed them–so being nominated for this award truly is a shock and an honor. I’d like to thank Julia and Kaleena for nominating me–for believing in my crazy when all I give them is sarcasm and moods. Uh–wow what a time. Turn off the music, I’m not done. I’d also like to thank Sprite, for without you I’d currently be thirsty. I’d also like to thank my brain for which all amusing things come from. To my computer–thank you for only being a pain in the ass when I am about to post something; I SAID STOP THE MUSIC!!! And to my family–may you continue to think my blog is about the degradation of the human condition. You will forever make me chuckle at the truth. And finally, to the shirtless men in my Reader…thank you for keeping me on my toes while bloghopping at work, you continually force me to sharpen my hearing and focus on who is walking by and for that I am eternally grateful.
- Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog.
- Add the rules so others can follow.
- Answer the questions that have been asked.
- Nominate a handful of entertaining bloggers.
What character do you relate to the most?
I think the character I relate to the most would be Feyre from the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas. I feel like I was seen by her character a lot, specifically in ACOMAF. Plus she is an overall badass, which if you ask a select few people, they too would tell you I am a badass.
You’re stuck in the world of the last book you read with the people of your favorite book – where are you? Who are your companions?
Ha! Guess I’m stuck on Jock Row (Jock Rule by Sara Ney), with the cast of the Twilight Saga. Wow what a great time to be alive.
What is your least favorite genre to read and why?
Historical Fiction. Apart from the Outlander series, I can never fully immerse myself into any of the Historical fiction books I have attempted to read over the years. I just can’t seem to relate to the characters and I find most–if not all–of them to be super slow. I also get super mad and annoyed at the sexism and racism that is found in them, due to them attempting to be historically accurate. It’s a time that I just rather not waste.
What book would you want turned into a movie or show?
OOOOHHHHH GOOD QUESTION!!!! I would absolutely love to see the ACOTAR series turned into a TV Show, probably by either Starz or HBO, because I feel like they would stick to the heart of the story more so than any other channels/networks; and will give the story line the proper depiction that it deserves. I refuse to let Netflix touch my babies. REFUSE.
Is there a hyped book you didn’t enjoy reading or even *gasp* DNF?
Saga Vol. 7. For the life of me I couldn’t do it. The story got monotonous and I just wasn’t clicking with the characters as I was in the previous volumes.
Who is the one character that you’d want to invite over to your house for dinner and why?
Edward ducking Cullen. So he can finally explain to me why he chose Bella instead of me, and then so he can promptly see the error of his ways and be mine 5ever.
What is your favorite reading location?
My bed! I move around a lot when I read, switching positions contorting and what not, so reading in my bed allows me to do this without looking like a complete and total weirdo. Plus it is a haven for fluffy blankets. Who doesn’t love reading with fluffy blankets?!
What is your favorite childhood book?
The Elsie Dinsmore Series by Martha Finley. I try to reread that series ever other year, because the nostalgia runs deep man.
If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Oh God, you are really cruel Kal. Ummmmm, probably would have to be a toss-up between the ACOTAR series and the Twilight saga (I honestly can’t choose one so sue me). Twilight because I’m trash and I always have fun reading the series. ACOTAR because no matter how many times I re-read that trilogy I am always discovering something new about either the plot, the characters, or the world in general.
You can decide which of these my life will surround. I wont be salty if you choose wrong.
Are you a book monogamist or a book polygamist? (How many books do you read at once?)
Hello, my name is Sam and I am polyamorous with my books. I don’t like to be tied down to just one book–to just one story. No ma’am, like POVs–I like to dabble in more than one 😉. On a good reading month I can read/listen to up 4 books at a time, but usually the average is around 2 physical books and an audio.
Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog? If so, how?
Yes they have! I find that I’m more structured with my TBR since I started blogging, as I have deadlines for reviews (specifically for ARCs) and such, but I also noticed that I take more notes now while I am reading than I use to before.
What is the book you want to read but are most afraid to begin? Why?
Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyers. Y’all I’ve been wanting to read this since it was leaked–but I feel like it will annoy me that it isn’t finished, and then I will get super obsessive because I want to know what happens next and yeah. Like a mid-season finale-Midnight sun is the cliff I refuse to hang on too; well at least until I can get a definite “this will become an actual thing” statement from the queen herself.
