T5W: Favorite Book Covers
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme that was created and moderated by Lainey but is now hosted by Sam (not me). If you want to find out more about this group/feature or if you wanna join in on all this fun, you can visit the Goodreads group here!
For this weeks topic I decided to dig deep into the meme’s archives and go with the very first topic created in the Goodreads group–Favorite Book Covers. Now you all know, I am a sucker for a really good (and shiny) book cover; so when I saw that this was the very first topic, I kind of did a happy dance in my bed. So without further ado, here are some of my favorite covers!
5. Golden By Jessie Kirby
I don’t think there is a opportunity I have come across where I don’t bring up this book and its GORGEOUS cover. Like seriously, it’s gold, sunny and has references to one of my favorite poets of all time. It’s like we were mated to be together!
4. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
This book cover screams regal savagery, which just so happens to be some of my favorite things! I love how simplistic this cover is yet within the simplicity is a complex story from the elegant crown to the placement of the blood dripping down. ABSOLUTELY. LOVE. THIS.
3. Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire
What would this list be if I didn’t add some mystical fantasy into it? I love this cover by just how mysterious it comes off. It’s literally a door in the middle of what looks to be a meadow, but the bluntness of it speaks so much of what the story is about. I love how entrancing and inviting the cover is to the reader–almost like it is pulling you into the story and into the lives of the characters within.
Plus there are sparkles. And it’s gold. #takemymoney
2. Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
THIS IS JUST SCREAMS READ AND LOVE ME! I’m sorry but holy crap I am enthralled by this cover. This book was a 100% cover buy book, in which I had no clue what the book was about but bought it anyway solely because the cover was absolutely gorgeous. I have no other words but this: hot damn.
1. Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
This probably isn’t a shocker to anyone, and by now you probably see a pattern with my book cover favorites–but if you don’t, I have a few words about my favorite cover of all time thus far.
YALL THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COVER I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF LAYING MY EYES UPON!! THE COLORS, THE VIBRANCY, THE GOLD!!
This cover is absolutely stunning–is damn near, if not completely, enthralling. The simplicity but dramatic-ness of it is what catches my eye every time, and every time I see this book, I always want to pick it up and find out more about the story behind the beauty.
Ugh. It’s positively radiant.
