May Wrap Up

I KICKED READINGS SLUMPS ASS.

This last month I said screw you to my reading slump and read all the things, and I actually enjoyed almost if not all of them?! WHO EVEN AM I?! I know, A bad-ass reader who doesn’t take no shit unless its from unicorns!

May was a truly an eye opener month, I realized a lot of things both personally and here on the blog that really pushed me to make a change (my post: Gaining Perspective.), and those changes have really helped and benefited me a lot. I’m not stressing as much as before, and I am actually enjoying reading again–which by itself is a miracle.

A time has been had.

But other than that, May has been chalk full of some great storytelling; so grab some popcorn, get a snuggly blanket, maybe even some lemonade for summer purposes, and check out all the things I consumed for the last 31 days!

April Wrap Up

ENDGAME HAPPENED. AND I AM STILL NOT OKAY.

This is what Post Endgame life is like…and I am not sure how I feel about it. April was a crazy month for me, both Blog wise and personally. In the month of April, my partner in crime and I kicked off our first event of the year for Bookend Events (Bookending Spring) which I am still waddling through all your terrific posts and hosts prompts! The event was amazing and even though we had a few hiccups and bumps along the way, I like to think it was a major success! Thank you to all who participated in this whether as a host or as a general participant– YOU guys made it to be this amazing experience and I am eternally thankful! If you didn’t get a chance to participate this time around, DON’T WORRY! We have our next event in the works with more details to come! Keep an eye out over on Clo’s blog (Book Dragons) and the events Twitter page (@bookend_events) for all the details! Continue reading “April Wrap Up”

March Wrap Up

Reading Slumps are real.

This month I have been marked by the black spot…AKA a really big reading slump–which was super inconvenient because March was a month where I was inundated with ARCs to read/review. A time truly these passed 31 days have been.

Apart from the great reading slump of 2019, March was a great bookish month, simply because I got to go to my cities annual Teen Book Convention (Teenbookcon)! I got to meet so many different authors–new-to-me and beloved ones–as well learning more from those I aspire to be like. From Angie Thomas to debut author Mimi Yu, I got to meet a plethora of amazing and talented people that took time to give us nuggets of wisdom and advice from their writing journeys.

Color me super inspired.

I may write a separate post about my time at TeenBookCon, but if you are super impatient and love instant gratification (like me), you can check out my bookstagram account (@fictionallysam) to see my highlight reel of my time there as well as some photos that I will be posting throughout the remainder of the week! So be sure to follow me on the Gram to not miss my “funny and hot take” on books in the picture format!

On that super high note, here is my wrap-up of the drought called March!

February Wrap Up

These past 28 days have bless my soul completely for one reason and one reason alone.

The Jonas brothers released new music last night.

None of you know this, but I stan those three brothers like a flower stans the sun. It’s ridiculous. If you follow my personal instagram– which you should follow both of my accounts, because I am seriously a time and a half in stories— (@sammers65), you would have known just how ecstatic and stupid excited I was for their new music to drop…and boy when they drop it….mah heart.  My crops were revived last night and my outlook has changed on the world. What a time to be alive.

Reading wise (probably the real reason you clicked on this post in the first place and not to hear my middle school heart gush) I read a lot of great books this month, which is shocking because of how the short the month is and my busier than usual schedule these pass couple of weeks, and the fact I was heading for a reading slump doozy back at the end of January.

February has been real good to me fam.
