We are back with another series buddy read with the amazing Jamsu! This month we are diving deep into the Crave series by Tracy Wolff. Skipping the first book, we are starting off with Crush, the second installment in the 6 book series, and honestly the best one so far in the series? Who would have guessed that I was intrigued enough to continue!

Everything feels off—especially me. I’ve returned to Katmere Academy, but I’m haunted by fragments of days I have no recollection of living and struggling to understand who, or what, I really am.
Just when I start to feel safe again, Hudson is back with a vengeance. He insists there are secrets I don’t know about, threatening to drive a wedge between Jaxon and me forever. But far worse enemies are at our doorstep.
The Circle is caught in a power play and the Vampire Court is trying to drag me out of my world and into theirs. The only thing Hudson and Jaxon agree on is that leaving Katmere would mean my certain death.
And not only am I fighting for my life, but now everyone else’s is at stake—unless we can defeat an unspeakable evil. All I know is that saving the people I love is going to require sacrifice.
Maybe more than I’m able to give.
“Sometimes life hands you more than a new hand of cards to play—it hands you a whole new deck, maybe even a whole new game.”
Crush takes place three/four months after Crave ends and Grace’s world has turned upside down suffice to say. She struggles to remember everything that has happened in the four month gap and find her own normal as revelation on revelation hits her.
Honestly without giving any spoilers, this was such a fun ride. The writing is still very much YA and there is a plethora of slang that makes it feel like the author is trying to be relevant that I honestly could have done without; but the plot and the pacing was what kept me sticking around and thats all that matters. I really enjoyed watching Grace find her footing and her path in this new world and life that she has been given. The introduction and story of Hudson is such a fun ride and he has simply become one of my favorite characters in this series so far.
The world and chain of powers/species is really fleshed out in this second book and is just a load of fun. Couple this with the banter between the characters and the abundance of plot twists that keep you on your toes–this was just a grade A time. I’m super stoked to see what all will happen next in this series!
