We’ve finally come to an end in mine and Jamsu’s epic re-read of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s famous Lux series. Today’s buddy read review Friday, we are gushing about all things Opposition–and I have a lot of things to gush about!

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.
She can’t believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.
They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.
“I’m game for anything with you, Daemon Black.”
This series has been everything for me this past month of re-reading, and honestly this book was the cherry on top. Opposition brings us back into the mayhem of where Origin left us. Everything has gone to shit and the aliens have gone all lite-bright on the crew, abandoning them to go with their fellow night lights.
Honestly, this is my second favorite book in the entire series. I feel like it wraps up the entire series very well and gives us exactly what we need when we need it. Daemon and Katy’s relationship intensifies (if that is even possible) and I loved watching their bond grow stronger with every page turn. It has been fun watching the other crew grow as well and become some of my favorite characters to date (looking at you Archer). I kind of wish we had more moments of bad-assery from the others (looking at you Beth), but honestly the fact that we got so much Katy and Daemon on screen time kind of makes up for that and so I’m not mad in the slightest.
This series has proven to be one of those timeless re-reads that just improves with each read. I’m beyond excited that this series was still good after all of these years. I’m sad that me and Jamsu’s re-read is over, but am excited for the next one!

Thank you so much for rereading these with me. It reminded me how much I love Daemon and Katy. It was a fun ride and while i’m sad it’s over, i’m also exited to start our next series.
I’m so happy you enjoyed this one Sammy Sam! I can’t wait to continue my reread. Y’all inspired me. Do you guys plan to read the spinoff series?
