Take a spooky Halloween tour of the mysterious Lore in this stand-alone installment of the Immortals After Dark series by #1 New York Times best-seller Kresley Cole.
A demon soldier of fortune . . .
Rƶk Kours dives into a dangerous mission, only to cross swords with the one woman who bewitched him.
A cursed Wiccan mercenary . . .
Poppy Dyer has never let her uncontrollable magic interfere with her work, but she can barely withstand one demon’s charms.
Trapped in a terrifying lair.
If the two rivals can defeat Halloween’s worst nightmares to escape a haunted castle, can they overcome their pasts to claim a spellbinding future together?
āHis attention dipped to her lips again. “If danger wasn’t all around and a severed leg giving us mood music, I’d be kissing you right now, kissing you long and slow. I’d do it till you got so wet for me and craved me inside you so bad…You said you don’t beg, but I could make you.”
THIS BOOK! If I read this book during Halloween, Iād be shitting my pants. Rent was due for Kresley Cole and yaāll she PAID IT! In this fun and haunting (iykyk) little novella we get Rƶkās story, where he finds himself waltzing into a crazy haunted castle with a cursed woman who he firmly believes could be his.Ā
Just like in Kresley fashion, she left absolutely no crumbs with this one. I was hooked the moment the story began until the final page. The chemistry between Poppy and Rƶk was 10/10 would recommend and donāt even get me started on the BANTER! Absolutely entertaining and some of the most fun Iāve had watching horror characters come to life. In general, Iām not a huge fan (or a fan at all really) of the horror genre, but Kresley gives us the Halloween/horror element in such a way that it’s still fun and not ākeep my lights on at nightā inducing.Ā
In true KC fashion, this one is packed with adventure and action that literally kept me on the edge of my seat. What a way to bring in the easter season! Overall, this was a banger of a novella and I can totally see myself rereading this in Octoberāespecially if there is an audio narration available.
Huge thank you to the author for sending me an ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Book 18.5?? Is this the crazy long series we’ve been talking about on the Discord??
