Let the birthday countdown begin! Happy Wednesday storytellers, and also happy Pride month! June is one of my favorite months out of the year because not only is it my birthday month, but it is also the month my bi flag fly just a little bit more than usual! This month is going to be jam pack with things so June’s future log is a bit chaotic because I literally will be everywhere.
Last month I was able to make a considerable dent in my ARC TBR and buddy reads— so I’ve given myself permission for the month of June to just read whatever I want to as a nice little treat for being awesome; and oh my god, you guys don’t understand how excited I am to just be able to read whatever and whenever I want without any stress or worrying. I do have one ARC that is due this month, so that will be the only book I read that is a definite on my TBR below, but everything else is tentative and flexible as bamboo.
This month I am also going on a much needed beach vacation with some of my closest friends from University, so I have a feeling a lot of beach reading will be in my future (if there isn’t any seaweed–if there is hello balcony reading from the AirBnB!). I’m still taking my Turkish classes on the weekends to which I’m super stoked about because I’m learning so much and am almost able to hold a decent conversation in Turkish! I’ve also been mentally story prepping some plot bunnies that have been forcing there way to the forefront of my mind and I’m excited to see what comes of it, so there is a high probability I might just start writing again this month (the real question is though–to continue Project Disney or to follow the plot bunny?).
TL;DR–Its my birthday month and Pride month so I’m gifting myself to do whatever I want and also I’m going on a beach vacation to read in the sun. It will indeed be a reader girl summer.
A Touch of Malice by Scarlett St. Clair
Persephone is the Goddess of Spring by title only. The truth is, since she was a little girl, flowers have shriveled at her touch. After moving to New Athens, she hopes to lead an unassuming life disguised as a mortal journalist.
Hades, God of the Dead, has built a gambling empire in the mortal world and his favorite bets are rumored to be impossible.
After a chance encounter with Hades, Persephone finds herself in a contract with the God of the Dead and the terms are impossible: Persephone must create life in the Underworld or lose her freedom forever.
The bet does more than expose Persephone’s failure as a Goddess, however. As she struggles to sow the seeds of her freedom, love for the God of the Dead grows—and it’s forbidden.

All my summer shows are coming back so I’m currently watching a lot. Not shown: Crime Scene Kitchen (FOX), The Great Pottery Throw Down (HBOmax), Discovery of Witches (Sundance), MasterChef (FOX), and literally everything on National Geographic WILD.
Season 16 (Re-watch)
This Month’s TBW is also going by the “do whatever you want” motto, and so there isn’t much on here except a few things I’m excited to either return to or to see the premiere of!
