Halfway through the month and Bookending Winter! I’m shocked at how fast this month is going and how time is flying so quickly when all year it has been going so slowly! I blinked and the next thing I knew we were onto a completely different host and great prompts have been dolled out already! So I am now in catch-up mode! Since before the announcement post went live, I have been ITCHING to do this prompt, and I’m so excited I have the time to do it! Today in my world of #BEWinter20 catch up, I will be partaking in Sumedha @ The Wordy Habitat‘s prompt that is quite literally the music to my ears!
If this is your first time here on my blog (hi! Hello! I’m Sam!) and you don’t already know what Bookending Winter is, its a month long event in December that was created by myself and Clo @ Cuppa Clo where we aspire to bring the bookish community closer together through the platform we love the most–blogging! Each day throughout the month, we have different prompts from different hosts that participants can replicate! I am so excited to check out everyone’s posts and prompts as we get more into the month as our hosts this year are dishing out quality content! You can also catch me smiling from ear to ear as I get to meet all of you on your blogs and on our Twitter (@bookend_events if you haven’t followed, you totally should!) page!
Also, don’t forget that we have a blog hopping masterlist! The list features all of our participants and those who are participating in Bookending Winter can put their post links next to their name for easy blog hopping! Can’t wait to see all your amazing posts! And with that, let’s get into today’s prompt!
-TODAY’S PROMPT-
Winter Playlist
Time to get your aesthetic vibe on! Share your playlist which you like to listen to nowadays while reading, having a drink, or daydreaming in the cozy weather.
If you have been on Fictionally Sam long enough, you will know I am absolutely OBSESSED with music–I think at one point in my life I wanted to become a musician and for several years in high school I took singing lessons–and have almost a playlist for every mood/vibe I have frequently waddled through. I know some folks don’t like to listen to music while reading and opt for some good ol’ fashion fire place ASMR (which is LOVELY! No Judgement here!); but for me–there is something about finding the right music for the right book and playing it as the words come to life on the page. Like audiobooks, it just takes the reading journey to a whole new level.
Lucky for me, my cozy vibes playlist more than always serves as my reading playlist! I curated the below playlist during my time in University and have slowly been adding to with similar vibe-ish songs over the years since. It’s my go-to reading playlist, my day dreaming playlist, and my writing/storytelling playlist. I am obsessed (or addicted, depending on your outlook on life) with this playlist OK?
This playlist, affectionately entitled: Loud Silence, is a playlist of soft indie pop with subtle hints and flows of folk that dances and twirls around between my ears. There are a few rare gems inside that liven up the playlist with a quick tempo beat, but for the most part these are the songs I imagine one would whisper to oneself when you believe no one is watching. The lyrics alone are what I picture to be the words one’s soul wishes to say but can’t. It’s essentially the framework of the beginning of my imagination…
