Day number nine is looking might fine here at Bookending Winter 2020! Day nine is also the last day of my first round as host though (boo!) but have no fear! I shall return at the end of the month to close the event out with some more fun and wacky (maybe) prompts that will for sure set 2021 up for success! Plus our next host: Sumedha @ The Wordy Habitat is literally life goals and I am so excited for you all to see what she has cooking up for you!
If this is your first time here on my blog (hi! Hello! I’m Sam!) and you don’t already know what Bookending Winter is, its a month long event in December that was created by myself and Clo @ Cuppa Clo where we aspire to bring the bookish community closer together through the platform we love the most–blogging! Each day throughout the month, we have different prompts from different hosts that participants can replicate! I am so excited to check out everyone’s posts and prompts as we get more into the month as our hosts this year are dishing out quality content! You can also catch me smiling from ear to ear as I get to meet all of you on your blogs and on our Twitter (@bookend_events if you haven’t followed, you totally should!) page!
Also, don’t forget that we have a blog hopping masterlist! The list features all of our participants and those who are participating in Bookending Winter can put their post links next to their name for easy blog hopping! Can’t wait to see all your amazing posts! And with that, let’s get into today’s prompt!
-TODAY’S PROMPT-
Meme It To Me
Summarize and / or describe your favorite book using only Memes and GIFs.
Honestly I didn’t realize the hardest part of this prompt would be narrowing down and choosing which book of my favorites I would use. After ten minutes of simply staring at my favorites shelf, I think I’ve chosen a great one for this challenge. Now let’s pray that the meme/GIF gods in the universe are on my side this evening, cause things could be getting a little…spicy 😉.
To make this challenge a little bit more fun, I thought I would keep you all in suspense of the title and see if you all could guess it based of the memes and GIFs I use! After making your assumption, you can click on the drop down arrow at the end to see the big reveal! Happy guessing!
The story begins with…

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Loved this meme! I thought maybe the Elemental series by Brigid Kememer (I may be spelling the author’s surname wrong) but they’re not aliens so that ruled that out. I did think Armentrout because I know she writes a lot of sci-fi 😅
Absolutely love this series! Unfortunately I didn’t guess it. I thought it would be of those alien romances where female character somehow goes to different planet or gets kidnapped 😅
