The Veil Is Thin
The 31st Oct is supposed to be a day when the veil between our world and the otherworld, is at it’s thinnest. As such, it was originally a day to ward of evil spirits; what spirits are you hoping to ward off? (e.g. paranormal characters, evil characters, writers block, procrastination etc.)
The Walking Dead
I’m warding these bad boys off today. There is absolutely nothing appealing about zombies, and honestly I really like not being eaten or turned into one. 10/10 would like to stay human if Zombie is my only other option. Catch me at your local Costco with a chainsaw and anti-zombie repellent (this will be a thing) ready to kill these creatures.
If any of you have known me for a while, you would know I am constantly struggling with myself with creative doubt. I always get in my head about my writing and my artistry and I wonder to myself if people will like me/it or if I’m any good at the things I love at all. Which in retrospect is obviously bullshit, because who gives a crap if people like what I do? All that matters is that I like it; the same can be said for if I’m good at it. YOLO.
But alas, easier said than done.
So today I’m warding off the bitch that is creative doubt. That hoe can go fuck herself, because I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year and aint nobody got time to be doubting oneself while doing a first draft.
This lady can honestly choke. I don’t need her energy in my life so don’t be surprised if you catch her dead underneath a bridge filled with toxic waste…just saying.
I think this is a theme with me but I constantly stay in my head, and one major con about being in ones own head is fear likes to crawl in and make itself a nice cup of coffee or maybe tea–who knows fear could be a fancy bitch. But yeah, she aint catching this temple today. Nah fam, like I said earlier I have plans for the rest of the year and I don’t want to be fearing if I’m doing the right thing or if something doesn’t work.
Ya girl just wants to breathe.
And breathing she will do.
Okay so I’m not afraid of clowns, but Pennywise can choke. Not a fan. Honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if he was next to umbridge underneath that nice bridge where the toxic people live…
I’m going to yell this, so that the people in the back can here: AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME TO BE REVERSING/BREAKING CURSES. Honestly, the amount of research and time it takes to break or reverse a curse is just too much and I could be spending that time watching Buffy or Netflix. Let’s be real now. If you guys hate me so much, steal my candy or break my legs, don’t just curse me; c’mon now. Let’s be great together.
What Evil Spirits are you warding off today? Let me know and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
