I feel like I blinked and suddenly I’m half way through April and that much closer to Leah On The Offbeat being released. If you can’t tell, my days have been a constant countdown to the release of this badass novel and I really haven’t been doing anything much but reading and rereading the synopsis and obsessively looking at my pre-order details.
I swear it isn’t as sad as it sounds.
But with that said I have been reading, albeit barely, and I have been watching a whole bunch of TV these past few weeks, so lets see what I’m currently indulged in!
Currently I just finished reading a few poetry collections and short novellas from the Team Player Anthology by Adrienne Lock, et al. And I have been loving it so much, definitely has helped immensely with the miniature reading slump I found myself in. As of today I have decided to
start the first book in the Knitting In The City Series by Penny Reid, Neanderthal Seeks Human, and so far I am really loving it! Mind you I am only two chapters in, so I can’t really tell if it is a hit or miss, but so far I don’t want to kill anyone and I’m not praying for it to be over already, so that has to be a good sign right?
This month music has been a constant for me. Since starting my new job, it has been really stressful and just anxiety all around, so I’ve been creating a playlist of songs that really help me relax and help me not only focus, but the songs on the playlist just send out these amazing vibes that I literally can’t stop bopping my head and twerking my shoulders throughout the day. Here is a little glimpse of some of the songs on the playlist:
- Supernova –Ansel Elgort
- Rollercoaster — Bleachers
- Burn It Down — Daughter
- Machine — MisterWives
- Turning Out — AJR
- Let’s face it every song from Bleachers. I’m trash. Sue me.
- The Village — Wrable
- Rush ft. Jessie Reyez — Lewis Capaldi
- Girl on Fire — Alicia Keys (Inferno Version)
TV has been LIT this month. I have been everywhere and absolutely no where all at the same time. So far, I’ve been living and breathing The Voice (as one does) and my fantasy team is alive and thriving. I’ve also been on this mystery/crime kick and have been devouring this BBC series, Midsomer Murders (PBS), and oh my goodness I am addicted. It has this classical feel to it, but so entrancing all the same.
Alongside this, I have begun watching Queer Eye (Netflix) and it is probably the most genuine and purest things I have seen on television. I am currently on episode four of the first season and am LIVING. Also, I need them to be my best friends and give me pep talks every morning for the rest of my life. Okay bye.
And that sums up my currents so far! Like I said before, I haven’t really done much this month so far, but what I have done has been super chill and amazing. So I can’t hate myself that much. Hopefully the rest of April will be epic!
