The Zoey Draven love fest continues (and probably has gotten stronger?) with Broken by the Horde King! This is the fourth book in the Horde Kings of Dakkar series, and I think it is officially safe to say that Zoey is now one of my auto-buy authors and I will follow her to the ends of the earth. Grocery lists? I’ll read them. Hot-takes on Instagram Stories? Binging as we speak. She is queen and I am her mere subject.

Nine years ago, he broke my heart and never returned. I vowed to forget him…if only I could.
When I was a child, I fell in love with a Dakkari boy. The prince of our clan. Rukkar, we called him. For he was destined to become the greatest horde king of our time.
He was Kiran of Rath Okkili. My friend. My strong, unyielding protector. His mischievous smile and golden eyes made my heart flutter and my soul sing. And just when I began to believe he returned my love…he shattered me so completely and never once looked back to see how I’d survived.
Nine years later, he’s returned.
Only, he’s not a prince anymore.
He’s a horde king. Cold and cruel. With molten eyes like sin and a body made for war.
I promised myself I’d never love him again.
He intends to make a liar out of me.
Because he not only wants my love again…he also demands me as his queen.

“Quietly, I murmured, “You belong with me, seffi. In my furs. It is there that you will sleep from now on.””
When I say I want a romance with a grovel–THIS IS WHAT I’M ASKING FOR!
Zoey Draven, my queen. My hero. Thank you.
You guys this book was brilliant. The characters, the angst, the absolute dynamite chemistry we get to witness between Maeva and Kiran. Bag it up, I will take 100 of them please and thank you. I usually am a bit standoff-ish with second chance romances, especially when they include childhood friends to lovers; but this one hits its target and LATCHES on. I absolutely devoured this one. Could not come up for air.
Draven put all of herself into this story and I think this one is probably the most emotionally gut wrenching story in the series yet. Solely because we get to follow the relationship from its inception almost, to its downfall, and then watch it blossom in the most unique and genuine way possible.
I could genuinely make you a PowerPoint on why you should pick this series up. Like don’t walk, RUN and read this series. It’s addictive as it is thrilling, and the romance is chef kisses.
