I am smitten with The Baileys and Lake Starlight with every fiber that holds my heart together. The writing duo, Piper Rayne, has done it again with another heart warming and swoon worthy installment in the Bailey’s series.
Birth of A Baby Daddy follows the story of Harley who after a steamy one night stand two years ago, is left searching for the father of her daughter. When news reaches her that she possibly has a chance to find him, Harley goes on a Journey to small town Alaska where she gets more than she could ever bargain for.
Now I must admit, the secret pregnancy/child isn’t my favorite trope in trope-land, solely because I hadn’t found one that I felt like did the trope justice. That is until I read this bad boy. I fell head over heels in love with these characters–both supporting and main–and how solid of a support system they are. The chemistry between Harley and our secret Baby Daddy Bailey (shhh, its a surprise!) is one that captivated me from the moment we were introduced to the scenario in Brooklyn’s story (Advice From A Jilted Bride). Between the banter, the sexual tension, and the swoon worthy parenting moments, my heart was a constant high.
Individually, I love how independent Harley is and how determined she is to make sure that her daughter has a better life and family than she did. Our Main Bailey had me all kinds of swooning from start to finish–I was amazed at how determined he was to play a role and a part in his daughters life, even after just finding out about his new parental status. The way that our Bailey stepped into the Father position and how much he grew and developed as a character during these chapters had me all kinds of proud.
Though I enjoyed this installment so incredibly much, I did feel like there were some moments that felt rushed and unrealistic, but these moments were quickly transitioned to a new scene/moment that I was able to re-immerse myself into the story and the characters lives.
Like I said, I love this series and I love the Bailey’s as a family unit. Birth of A Baby Daddy is a heart warming tale of family and love that will leave you breathless and craving more. Piper Rayne has become a staple on my shelves and I highly recommend this series and this installment to anyone who is craving a good contemporary romance that will have them swept off their feet!
