Most Anticipated May Movie Releases

T-minus 5 days until Avengers: Endgame.
Literally Marvel is all I have throughout about these last 20 days. What is going to happen to my children? Are they safe? Will I see purple rain (get it…cause Thanos is purple and I’ need him to die from a thousand cuts)? No matter how many times I tweet at the actors, the production crew, the writers–no one will give me the answers I need.
Sheldon Cooper GIF - Sheldon Cooper BBT GIFsHell, according to Buzzfeed, Tom Holland doesn’t even know the answers. Well, I kind of figure that would happen cause the dude is a walking and breathing spoiler machine (which is one of the many qualities I love about him).

I guess until Endgame happens and we all fall into a puddle of shock, we can talk about the movies I am excited for in May, AKA Post Endgame.

Pokemon Detective Pickachu (May 10)

Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019) PosterGenre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Mystery, Sci-fi
Rated: PG
Directed: Rob Letterman
Starring: Ryan ReynoldsSuki WaterhouseKathryn NewtonRob Delaney

In a world where people collect Pokémon to do battle, a boy comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who seeks to be a detective.
It’s Ryan ducking Reynolds as Pickachu. Need I say ANYTHING more?

Tolkein (May 10)

Tolkien (2019) PosterGenre: Biography, Drama
Rated: PG-13
Directed: Dome Karukoski
Starring: Lily CollinsPatrick GibsonNicholas HoultGenevieve O’Reilly

Tolkien explores the formative years of the orphaned author as he finds friendship, love and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow outcasts at school.
It’s a movie about one of the greatest literary minds in the world. Why would I not want to go see this?

Aladdin (May 24)

Aladdin (2019) PosterGenre: Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Musical, Romance
Rated: TBD
Directed: Guy Ritchie
Starring: Naomi ScottWill SmithAlan TudykMena Massoud

A kindhearted Arabian street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make the deepest wishes come true.
I really just want to see how horrible of a job Will Smith will be as the Genie, because literally no one can beat Robin Williams. Fingers crossed that they just interpret the Genie as a different vibe instead of trying to replicate Robin’s magnificence.
