If you’re a guy like me, and you find yourself having banged your sexy new boss—the school principal—in the back of your Jeep one drunken night, here’s a few takeaways based on my experience…
Lesson One: Always get her FULL name.
Lesson Two: Consider asking what she does for a living.
Lesson Three: Find out why she’s moved to town. Get details. Details are crucial.
Lesson Four: Don’t alter her bio in front of an auditorium of high school students unless you know she has a sense of humor for that sort of thing.
Lesson Five: If you ignore Lesson Four, apologize instead of flirt when you’re sent to the principal’s office.
Lesson Six: NEVER sleep with her again.
Lesson Seven: Pay attention to this one—it’s the most important of them all.
Don’t fall for your one-night stand.
Class dismissed.

Piper Rayne is easily becoming another one of my favorite Romance authors and an auto-buy author for me! After devouring their Blue Collar Brothers trilogy I was a little hesitant in requesting an ARC for their newest series, solely because I was on a Piper Rayne high and didn’t want anything to sully that feeling! But against my feelings, I requested this gem, and I am so glad I did!
Lessons From a One-Night Stand is the first novel in the writing duo’s new series called The Bailey’s which each book is set to follow a child in the Bailey family. The first installment follows the story of the eldest Bailey, Austen, and Holly his new boss and also his one night stand. Yeah, I know–a time indeed. As both of them realize the conundrum they have found themselves in, they also begin to realize that the attraction and chemistry they feel between one another isn’t something to be ignored.
Like the rest of Lake Starlight, Alaska, I am head over heels in love with our male lead, Austen Bailey. His character was funny, charming and your typical guy next door–which was refreshing after reading book after book of Alpha-Males. Austen’s sassy banter between both Holly and his siblings was both comical and endearing as he had me swooning from the first page to the very end. I didn’t connect as much with our main heroine, Holly, as much as I usually do with Piper Rayne’s novels, but she is written in such a way that you are still sucked into her perspective and her dialogue. A softy with a tough exterior, Holly Radcliffe, is a woman on a mission who never saw love coming; and it was such a treat to watch her get ambushed by it.
I think my favorite part about this new series and this novel is the gossip blog, Lake Starlight Buzz Wheel, that everyone and their mother’s is obsessed with. I honestly enjoyed the use of it to push the plot and story forward and I can’t wait to see how it evolves in the coming novels!
Overall this story is a fun, entertaining, and heart warming story of finding love when you least expect it. If you love romance and a good swoon fest, I highly recommend picking up a copy!
