-TODAY’S PROMPT-

Ā Reading Goals for the New Year
Setting out a plan for what books Iā€™d like to read in 2019

U5dqnYndKb89RJVchhQFZB6hgai85B5_1680x8400Read the Shadow Hunter Chronicles

This has been on my resolutions since I stopped at City of Ash. But as the final conclusion came out last week, I really wanna delve into this world again and see what all the hype is about. So for this series I need to read:

The rest of The Mortal Instrument Series after City of Ashes
The Infernal Devices Series
The Dark Artifices Series

Read more Paranormal Romance

Okay, so if you all have been reading my blog since the beginning you would know I read a crap ton of Romance–like A LOT. But for some strange reason, I haven’t branched out yet to the paranormal romance portion of the romance umbrella. This fact shocks me because I love paranormal fiction almost as much as I love Fantasy and Science Fiction, so I’m not sure why I haven’t dove head first into the paranormal romance when I entered the whole romance world.
I am hoping, though, that 2019 changes this! So if you have any good PR recommendations let a gal know below!Ā

Read one Classic a month

So this is probably going to be the hardest one to tackle, but one that I really want to accomplish in 2019! I’m trying to become a well-rounded reader, and I feel like I’m at a stage of my life where I can really appreciate the themes and workings of the tomes we consider classics, where as before I don’t think I was mature enough in my reading journey to grasp the concepts or appreciate them to say the least. So for 2019 I want to read 12 classics–one a month.

You’ll love the Shadowhunters series! I’m on a reread of the original series and the audio by actress Mae Whitman is fantastic!

If you want to read more paranormal and classics, in January Amy @ The Little Booknerds in the Corner is joining my book club and helping me moving it to Discord, and the theme for the year is going to be hyped books! In January we are doing paranormal, and later in the year we will be doing classics for one of the months. It’s a book club, but it’s also kind of a year-long reading challenge, so you can read any book you want as long as it falls under the month’s theme, and we will be having different chats for them on Discord and on our blogs! šŸ™‚ We haven’t officially announced it yet, but we are planning to soon. But ya know, since you mentioned wanting to read more of those, so I thought I’d let you in on it early. šŸ˜‰

You know… I think i still need to read after City of Ashes. šŸ˜‚ It’s been like 6 years so I don’t even remember aside from not liking the book.

I still have to make my 2019 reading resolutions even though there isn’t much time left until the end of the year. I hope 2019 is a great year for you and good luck with these goals! I especially like the 1 Classic per month and hope you enjoy your choices, though I know some Classics can be quite heavy reading material.

Melanie @ Mel to the Any is doing a monthly Classics readalong next year so maybe that will help you with your classics goal (which I completely support)?
