BLOGOWEEN DAY 1: Halloween Creatures Tag 2.0
HAPPY OCTOBER 1ST MY BEAUTIFUL GREMLINS! I can’t believe October is finally here–I can’t believe BLOGOWEEN is finally here! I am legit so excited for the days to come and to see all of y’all’s spooktacular/autumn vibing posts! Clo and I have worked so hard to make this a reality and I am stupid excited to see it come alive!
If you don’t know what Blogoween is then you are in for a treat! It’s a month-long event co-organized by myself and Clo @ Book Dragons, as well as hosted by a slew of amazing book bloggers where we create posts centering around the thoeme of Halloween and/r Autumn! If interested you can click here for more info and to sign up!
Our first prompt of the month comes from the amazing Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward, which if you haven’t followed him yet YOU TOTALLY SHOULD! To kick off Blogoween this year, he has reinvented his Halloween Creatures Book tag and has so nicely tagged me in it! Thank you Anthony!
So the rules for this are rather simple: Answer all the prompts and answer honestly, tag 1-13 people, Link back to the original post, don’t forget to credit the creator (Anthony @ Keep Reading Forward), and last but not least have fun!
Witch: A Magical Character or Book.
For this one I’m going to be completely unoriginal and go with the Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling because why not? It has both magical characters and its a magical book. Boom. (I know, I know I’m so inventive)
Werewolf: The Perfect Book to Read at Night.
Oh most definitely It by Stephen King. By the time you finish that, you’ll be asking yourself “What even is sleep? I don’t need sleep.”
Frankenstein: A Book that Truly Shocked You.
Hmmmm, probably Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire. This book shocked me how much incredible world building and character development went into a book so small. Like it isn’t even 200 pages and its literally a literature masterpiece. I was in shock and in awe.
The Devil: A Dark, Evil Character.
Umbridge from the Harry Potter series. That woman can choke and then be burned. I still think she got off too easy.
Grim Reaper: A Character that Should Never Have Died.
SPOILERS IF YOU HAVENT READ THE A COURT OF THRONES AND ROSES SERIES BY SARAH J. MAAS!!!!!!!
The Suriel. Our gossip queen didn’t need that. She didn’t deserve it. #JUSTICEFORSURIEL2018
Zombie:A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More.
From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata. After I finished this book I was in a constant state of “I neeeeedddd mooorrrreeee!” More Ivan, more Jasmin, more everything!
Gargoyle: A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost.
Charlie Swan from the Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer. I’m currently annotating the Twilight series for the first time (I know I’m shocked it took me this long to do it too) and I am reminded how much I love and stan Charlie Swan. Like he doesn’t deserve have the shit that Bella puts him through, and honestly he is one of the best Fathers out there in Paranormal fiction. And honestly, is it really a book tag for me if I didn’t mention Twilight? Is it?
Vampire: A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I’m still emotionally crippled from reading that book all those years ago. Wow. What a time.
Ghost: A Book that Still Haunts You.
Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I don’t even have words to say about this book, except its happenings still haunt my ever movement.
Demon: A Book that Really Scared You.
So this one is actually a hard one for me because I don’t get scared easily…like at all. It’s a thing that annoys my siblings to no end, but alas it is what it is. So for this I guess I’ll use a book that made me uncomfortable in the horror sense, which would have to be Monster by Frank E. Peretti. Now I read this book when I was around 11 years old with my siblings and I don’t remember much except that my siblings (whom I shared a room with at the time) slept with the lights on for a few weeks.
Skeleton: A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With.
Jonathan Randall from the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon. Like I truly want to know what he thought was going to happen after ruining these peoples lives? Like I honestly just want to have a nice sit down with him over a nice steaming poisoned cup of tea and ask him what was going on in his head when he decided “hey you know, it would be fun to fuck up the Fraser family’s lives. Yeah Let’s do it”.
Mummy: A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time.
I am most definitely going to be staying on brand here and say The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.
And if I’m not on brand then I guess A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas, but also like that is sort of also on brand for me?
Creepy Doll: A Cover too Scary to Look At.
I’m not even going to comment. Just look at it.
Phew! That was harder than I thought it was going to be! I had so much fun doing this though!
