Books I Need In September

SEPTANT.png
I’m officially announcing September as my recharge month! Aka, ya girl is going to read what she wants when she wants and not give a flying hoot. Because of my self-proclaimed recharge proclamation, September is going to be super slow in the best way possible.
I am finally starting to be pickier with the things I commit to this month. I made it this way because I miss reading random books that doesn’t have a deadline attached to it. I have been craving the days where I could read whatever I wanted and take however long I needed to read it and not worry about a deadline or a commitment looming over my head.
However,  there is still a small bundle of books that release this month that I am super excited to get my hands on!
(Click on the cover to be taken to the books official Goodreads page!)

PridePride by Ibi Zoboi (Sept. 18th)

“Zuri Benitez has pride. Brooklyn pride, family pride, and pride in her Afro-Latino roots. But pride might not be enough to save her rapidly gentrifying neighborhood from becoming unrecognizable.
When the wealthy Darcy family moves in across the street, Zuri wants nothing to do with their two teenage sons, even as her older sister, Janae, starts to fall for the charming Ainsley. She especially can’t stand the judgmental and arrogant Darius. Yet as Zuri and Darius are forced to find common ground, their initial dislike shifts into an unexpected understanding.
But with four wild sisters pulling her in different directions, cute boy Warren vying for her attention, and college applications hovering on the horizon, Zuri fights to find her place in Bushwick’s changing landscape, or lose it all.”

Wildcard (Warcross #2)Wildcard by Marie Lu (Sept. 18th)

Emika Chen barely made it out of the Warcross Championships alive. Now that she knows the truth behind Hideo’s new NeuroLink algorithm, she can no longer trust the one person she’s always looked up to, who she once thought was on her side.
Determined to put a stop to Hideo’s grim plans, Emika and the Phoenix Riders band together, only to find a new threat lurking on the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Someone’s put a bounty on Emika’s head, and her sole chance for survival lies with Zero and the Blackcoats, his ruthless crew. But Emika soon learns that Zero isn’t all that he seems–and his protection comes at a price.
Caught in a web of betrayal, with the future of free will at risk, just how far will Emika go to take down the man she loves?

Flirting with ForeverFlirting With Forever by Kendall Ryan (Sept. 3rd)

I’ve waited years for the perfect girl, yet she was right in front of me all along.
My best friend, Natalie, has been by my side through everything. Leaning on my shoulder, borrowing my sweatshirts…and making my pants too tight when she flashes me that sassy smile that drives me crazy.
But she has no idea about that last part. She doesn’t have a clue I’ve felt this way about her for years.
Until one night after too many cocktails, we fall into bed together.
I’m flirting with my forever…she just doesn’t know it yet.
This book is a sexy, slow-burning best-friends-to-lovers romance with a guaranteed HEA and no cheating. Dive in, and get ready to melt for Cam!

An Absolutely Remarkable ThingAn Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green (Sept. 25th)

The Carls just appeared. Coming home from work at three a.m., twenty-three-year-old April May stumbles across a giant sculpture. Delighted by its appearance and craftsmanship–like a ten-foot-tall Transformer wearing a suit of samurai armor–April and her friend Andy make a video with it, which Andy uploads to YouTube. The next day April wakes up to a viral video and a new life. News quickly spreads that there are Carls in dozens of cities around the world–everywhere from Beijing to Buenos Aires–and April, as their first documentarian, finds herself at the center of an intense international media spotlight.
Now April has to deal with the pressure on her relationships, her identity, and her safety that this new position brings, all while being on the front lines of the quest to find out not just what the Carls are, but what they want from us.

Vengeful (Villains, #2)Vengeful by V.E. Schwab (Sept. 25th)

The sequel to VICIOUS, V.E. Schwab’s first adult novel.
Sydney once had Serena—beloved sister, betrayed enemy, powerful ally. But now she is alone, except for her thrice-dead dog, Dol, and then there’s Victor, who thinks Sydney doesn’t know about his most recent act of vengeance.
Victor himself is under the radar these days—being buried and re-animated can strike concern even if one has superhuman powers. But despite his own worries, his anger remains. And Eli Ever still has yet to pay for the evil he has done.

Vows on Ice (Boys of Winter #6)Vows on Ice by S.R. Grey (Sept. 24th)

Aubrey….
I’m so excited for my wedding that I can’t stop humming “Here Comes the Bride.” Hey, you’d be happy too if you were marrying hockey’s most eligible bachelor, Brent Oliver. Only problem is the universe seems to be conspiring against us, trying to thwart our big day. How else would you explain a missing bridal gown, an unexpected injury, and a slew of other mishaps?
Will this wedding ever even happen?
Brent….
You bet your ass this wedding is going to happen! Nothing will keep me from marrying the woman of my dreams, Aubrey Shelburne. Not even strippers, my unruly nephews, or a broken ankle can stop me. I’m taking my girl to the altar, damn it. And afterward, I plan to show her a whole new meaning to that song she keeps humming.
Let’s just say the bride will definitely be coming!
Vows on Ice is a hilarious standalone short novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series, featuring all of the couples and an Area 51 appearance!

The Tenth GirlThe Tenth Girl by Carrie Aarons (Sept. 9th)

Never play a game you can’t win.
For Cain Kent, that rule is golden. Losing is not in his vocabulary, and up until now, everything has come easy. Football, school, girls … his charm-laced ego may just be bigger than Texas itself.
The competition he started freshman year with his friends, to make ten notches each in their bedposts by graduation day, is practically in the bag. One more to go, and then it’s off to college fame and eventually, the big time. Attachments aren’t something he wants to form, but when the quiet new girl challenges him in front of his classmates, his curiosity is piqued. She would be the perfect final score, and what fun to break her in the process.
Too bad Harper Posy has no intention of being just another warm body, especially to the bad boy quarterback. Even if he does quote Forster and Huxley when no one is listening. An aspiring author herself, Cain and his hidden soft side are dangerous to her heart. She’s seen men ruin her mother’s dreams time and again, and she’s determined to fly far away as soon as she has that diploma in her fist.
But as the school year’s end looms closer, both realize they didn’t quite understand the rules to begin with. Is winning a dirty bet worth the gamble when the stakes, or the other’s heart in this case, are so high?
Harper is the one girl who isn’t up for playing games. And she just might make Cain lose. Everything.

Happy reading and happy September!
