Once the flames are ignited . . .
Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family’s fortune decimated and forced her to wed London’s most nefarious nobleman.
They will burn for eternity . . .
Lord Benjamin Archer is no ordinary man. Doomed to hide his disfigured face behind masks, Archer knows it’s selfish to take Miranda as his bride. Yet he can’t help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn’t felt in a lifetime. When Archer is accused of a series of gruesome murders, he gives in to the beastly nature he has fought so hard to hide from the world. But the curse that haunts him cannot be denied. Now, to save his soul, Miranda will enter a world of dark magic and darker intrigue. For only she can see the man hiding behind the mask.
âWhat is beauty or ugliness but a false front that prompts man to make assumptions rather than delving deeper.â
Paranormal romance meets historical romance in Firelight! Kristen Callihan entices readers with her Darkest London series debut novel that depicts the story of Miranda Ellis, a girl with a burning gift that has haunted her since her youth, and Lord Benjamin Archer a man whose hunt for the truth has left him with a fate that he could never have imagined. Yâall I said it once and Iâll say it againâHistorical romance hits different with a mystery involved! But sweet honey chicken biscuits from Whataburger yâallâhistorical romance with PARANORMAL romance?! Thatâs a whole other level of serotonin that I need shot into my veins. I really enjoyed this story, which is not surprising since Iâm a lover of all things Kristen Callihan.
Miranda was such an interesting character to read; her tenacity and elegance had me all but tripping over myself to get more of her story, not to mention my theatre loving side shoving my chores to the wayside I could get extra time with Lord Archer who undoubtedly had some hard core Phantom of the Opera vibes going on.
The plot was completely unique and wholeheartedly fun; and even though I have more questions than answers by the end of it, Iâm excited to see all that will happen in the next story! Kristen Callihan showed up with Firelight and if you are looking for a fun, quick paced paranormal/historical romance to light up your lifeâthis one is it!
I really had a fun time with this one here and I am glad that you really enjoyed it. Such a fun premise and plot that is laid out.
