WSJ bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills returns with an all-new swoony romance between the football hottie and the mystery girl he kissed years before.
Dillon McQueen: Babe. I promise. You want me.
Serena Jensen: Um, who are you?
There’s a legend at Waylon University: the first girl you kiss freshman year at the bonfire party is the one you’ll never forget. She’ll crawl under your skin and never leave. She’ll spark a passion so fierce you’ll burn the world down to possess her.
You might even put a ring on it.
As in all things with fate, timing is everything. That kiss can go horribly wrong. She might run in the opposite direction. And boy, did Serena run.
Dillon is Waylon’s hotshot quarterback with something to prove. All he wants is to graduate and make it to the NFL. What he doesn’t need is to finally meet the mystery girl he kissed at the bonfire freshman year. Isn’t it enough that she’s haunted his dreams for more than a thousand nights?
Fate laughs in his face when he runs into the quirky girl at the Piggly Wiggly. Surrounded by his entourage, he’s got all the Oreos in his cart; she gets revenge by buying every six-pack of his favorite beer.
Obviously, that legend is a curse. She’s not his type. She hates him. Worst of all, how can she not remember him when she left a Serena-shaped hole in his heart for the past three years?
So why can’t he stop trying to win her?
Will this quarterback score the girl or make the biggest fumble of his life?

“People see me as some kind of, I don’t know, hotshot guy, but deep down there’s only a few things I want: football, my dad’s approval, and someone authentic.”
The Legend of Waylon University continues with sports romance queen’s newest standalone! The magic of the university’s bonfire is in full force with the rising star Quarterback, Dillion McQueen, when he sets his eyes on the sassy and independent Serena Jensen.
According to legend the first person you kiss at the annual bonfire is the person you will never forget. For Dillon, that person is Serena at his freshman bonfire, and his time since hasn’t been the same. Ilsa Madden-Mills continues to solidify herself as one of my favorite contemporary sports romance authors and this installment is further proof on why I love her work. Mills has this beautiful knack of blending comedy, drama and hot as all get out romance together to tell the perfect story.
I completely fell in love Dillon and Serena both as a couple and as individuals. We all know how much I love witty banter and tit-for-tat bickering, and this story delivers that and so much more. Serena is a woman who has seen and lived through shit and she has absolutely no plans to relive history or its mistakes; so when Dillon came knocking for her—well she made him work for it and God do I love it when heroines make heroes work for them.
This novel is jammed pack with swoon worthy moments, explosions of feels and hilarious scenes that will have you clutching your pearls and snorting water through your nose. As with her other novels that take place at Waylon University—this is a New Adult novel that you don’t want to skip out on!
