I love you, he said.
Forever, he said.
Turns out, he lied.
When he leaves me high and dry after a cross-country move, I push him out of my life as much as I can, which is hard to do when the guy who broke your heart also happens to be the most famous dude in town.
After a disastrous year, he’s aiming to rehab his reputation, and I just so happen to be aiming for a promotion at the paper.
So, we strike a deal, and it’s a win-win all around.
Besides, what’s the harm in a few dates to charity galas anyway?
He’s arrogant, a total jerk. There’s no way I’ll fall for him…again.
I used to love him. Now I hate him…I think.
I feel like I say this with every installment of the texting series, but hot damn is this my favorite. Teagan Hunter is a queen and I am not worthy of her words.
Text Me Baby One More Time is the final installment in the Texting series and is a story of second chances and coming back to who you are after losing your way. Denver is a journalist who has sworn her allegiance to hating the athlete who broke her heart six years ago and so far she has made it pretty good with never seeing him again. However, after an altercation between players sends our Hero home for a couple of months, Denver finds herself surrounded by him and the memories of what he did to her.
I was absolutely smitten with our Hero and heroine (is sworn to secrecy and can’t reveal who our Hero is! So you have to read to find out!), the chemistry between them was undeniable and so deep rooted because of their past, that I honestly was rooting for her to take him back from the very first page. I connected so much to Denver and her perspective of things, spunky, blunt, and an overall badass, Denver tells it like it is with her feelings–especially when it comes to our Hero. I loved how she made him work to get back into her life and even more so to get her trust back.
I adored how Hunter uses texting as a way of doing flashbacks and explaining the little things that in the present have so much impact on our main characters. With seamless transitions and non-stop snark, I was sucked in and I couldn’t for the life of me stop grinning the entire time I was reading this bad boy.
Overall, this story is a beautiful second chance romance with enough sass and snark that will keep you engrossed from start to finish. The chemistry is undeniable, and I am so sad that this is the end of the texting series, but so excited to see what new worlds Teagan Hunter creates next! If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly suggest you go grab yourself a copy right away! Beautiful, heart-jerking, funny, and steamy as hell, Text Me Baby One More Time is a book you shouldn’t overlook.
