The Netflix Book Tag
Sorry I have been a little MIA lately, things got really weird and super shady at work these past couple of weeks and I had to learn a new lesson in this stage of adulting called resigning. Which for anyone who doesn’t know, is hella awkward and just about really uncomfortable when your boss is known to have a negative reactions to people leaving his company voluntarily. Yeah, it was just…yeah.
But enough about the weird things! I recently found this amazing tag over on pace, amore, libri, and I could just not have a go at it when it literally blends my two favorite things together–Netflix and books.
RECENTLY WATCHED: The last book you finished reading.
The last book I finished was Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting. Because ya know, I’m trash and can’t seem to get enough of Violet and Alex. I know, I know, it is a problem–I’m working on it.
TOP PICKS: A book that has been recommended to you based on books you have previously read.
I haven’t had a book recommended to me by someone in a really long time so I am going to go with whatever Goodreads recommends me which is… LIFEL1K3 by Jay Kristoff!
“On a floating junkyard beneath a radiation sky, a deadly secret lies buried in the scrap.
Eve isn’t looking for secrets—she’s too busy looking over her shoulder. The robot gladiator she’s just spent six months building has been reduced to a smoking wreck, and the only thing keeping her Grandpa from the grave was the fistful of credits she just lost to the bookies. To top it off, she’s discovered she can destroy electronics with the power of her mind, and the puritanical Brotherhood are building a coffin her size. If she’s ever had a worse day, Eve can’t remember it.
But when Eve discovers the ruins of an android boy named Ezekiel in the scrap pile she calls home, her entire world comes crashing down. With her best friend Lemon Fresh and her robotic conscience, Cricket, in tow, she and Ezekiel will trek across deserts of irradiated glass, infiltrate towering megacities and scour the graveyard of humanity’s greatest folly to save the ones Eve loves, and learn the dark secrets of her past.
Even if those secrets were better off staying buried.” —Goodreads Synopsis
Huh…doesn’t sound half bad.
RECENTLY ADDED: The last book you bought.
The last physical book I bought was From Twinkle With Love by Sandhya Menon, the Last Audiobook was The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, and the last ebook I purchases was Forever Pucked by Helena Hunting.
POPULAR ON NETFLIX: Books that everyone knows about. (2 you’ve read and 2 you haven’t read or have no interest in reading.)
Oh well this one is an easy one! Everyone and their mothers knows about The Hate U Give By Angie Thomas and Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli; both of which I have read and loved immensely. For the two books that everyone knows about and I haven’t yet read/no interest in reading would have to go to:
The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare. I swear I plan on reading this whole world (I got to City of Glass and never finished)! I just have to carve out time to do it… It’s on my TBR I swear it is!
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin. Yeah, ya girl here isn’t about to read this one, especially since I’ve heard that the latest release isn’t that great to begin with. I think I will survive living in ignorant bliss with this one.
COMEDIES: A funny book.
Oh my goodness, Pucked by Helena Hunting is absolutely hilarious, I literally busted out laughing in my cubicle on more than one occasion just thinking about Violet and her shenanigans.
DRAMAS: A character who is a drama queen/king.
This is a toss-up between Edward Cullen and Tamlin the Tool. They are both Drama kings, but it depends on my mood who is the biggest drama king. Usually, Tamlin wins.
ANIMATED: A book with cartoons on the cover.
Nimona! All the cartoons– all the funny!
WATCH IT AGAIN: A book or series that you want to re-read.
Twilight, because I’m truly trash.
DOCUMENTARIES: A non-fiction book you’d recommend to everyone.
This Book Is Gay by Juno Dawson!
ACTION AND ADVENTURE: An action-packed book.
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi! Non-stop action and all the Warner angst you never really knew you needed.
NEW RELEASES: A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read.
What If It’s Us by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli! Which comes out October 9th! Here is the synopsis if you haven’t had a glimpse of greatness yet!
“Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it’s that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it.
Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn’t be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend’s things.
But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them?
Maybe nothing. After all, they get separated.
Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited.
But what if they can’t quite nail a first date . . . or a second first date . . . or a third?
What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work . . . and Ben doesn’t try hard enough?
What if life really isn’t like a Broadway play?
But what if it is?” — Goodreads Synopsis
